They spent 300 million on those 6 episodes, no way any company in the world will spend over a billion on a +20 episode season... plus it took them 2 years to produce those 6 episodes. This is something else. Season 2 from what I've read will be composed of 5 only episodes. Don't know how many for the announced spinoff though. Okay, it wasn't plastic surgery but tape pulling his face back... maybe it wasn't that noticeable to audiences 30-40 years ago, but watching his movies today it is kinda distracting. He's too old to take over Bond (how old is he going to be when the movie comes out 50?) and no way they would ever consider a one off with any actor. Historically they have always gone for lesser known actors for that role. This movie is good and I love Harrison Ford, but it's no more than a 7/10 to me... I have some issues with the third act and the twists. My favorite Bond's are Connery and Brosnan. Everyone else is watchable though. The answer is: No. Maybe if Robert Downey Jr. makes 1 -2 more Sherlock Holmes that are successful an argument could be made. I think Sly is second closest but Star Wars + Indy gross more on average than Rocky + Rambo films easily. Immature... just like grown ups going crazy for superhero movies, Star Wars and stupid childish stuff in general. I actually consider Ghost Protocol as the one who saved the franchise and reinvented the formula which is still being followed (with some slight improvements) to date. Also starting with Ghost Protocol was that these movies stopped being standalone installments and began having callbacks to previous events/characters. Anyways they are all great entertainment... except for part 2 lol. Weren't the Indians also American? I always check a movie's runtime before watching in theaters... anything over 150 minutes I wait to watch at home. The writing wasn't as solid though. lol Yeah I see it... CGI Jack Nicholson coming up! I think a lot of people give props to this movie for being groundbreaking in the slasher genre... did things that had not been done in that very new genre up to then in cinema history. Haven't watched it and I'm not going to watch it in theaters because of such a long running time. Should have been an Apple TV mini series and made 4 hours / 4 episodes. So far Universal has invested without taking into account any marketing... over 430 million between a license to produce a trilogy (rights) and the production budget of this installment. Having grossed 90 million worldwide is not what I would qualify as a financial success. I doubt they are happy and were expecting similar performance to their Halloween movies. Remember Universal does not keep the entire 90 million either... they split it with the movie theaters and they get a smaller cut each passing week... also smaller cuts from many international markets... so far they have recovered somewhere in the 50 million range. I think it's not even the straight up rights... WB retains the overall rights... Universal bought rights but only like a license to produce an Exorcist trilogy. But I believe WB has the franchise rights to keep producing more content from this IP. I think that was the original release intention for The Irishman, COVID wasn't an issue. Oh okay. Yeah I doubt they will do that since it will require to reshoot most of the film... also I doubt Disney has any issues with what she is going around saying... talk about shooting yourself in the foot. Maybe your suggestion comes from a very nice place in your heart as a fan, but I would say it's better to just let it go. Just watch the first 3 movies and ignore those DHINO entries. As of 2023 those deepfake/deaging/CG-whatever things still don't look 100% convincing (I can't believe people praising the deaged Harrison Ford sequence in the most recent Indiana Jones film). Bruce is gone, his acting choices/charm/voice are not there anymore, anything else would be an impression/parody of him. Let it go. =(
