Loved that direct in your face reference to MGM considering so many online want Michael Fassbender to be the next Bond and it's insane they don't consider him for the role or at least a one off!

I agree. Fassbender would make an excellent James Bond! To those who don't agree, watch the scene in "X-Men First Class " where he encounters the old SS Officers in South America.
Take away the Magneto powers, you are looking at a Bond kill!

He's too old to take over Bond (how old is he going to be when the movie comes out 50?) and no way they would ever consider a one off with any actor. Historically they have always gone for lesser known actors for that role.

It was also a riff on the scene in Taxi Driver where Easy Andy was selling guns to Travis Bickle.

Yeah, it reminded much more of the Taxi Driver scene rather than some Bond reference.

I think the OP is reaching a bit.
