Has any actor been so successful at portraying two or more franchise characters?
Han Solo AND Indiana Jones.
A point could be stretched to include Jack Ryan and Deckard from Blade Runner.

Vin Diesel: Riddick, Groot and Dominic Toretto
RDJ: Sherlock Holmes and Iron Man
Leslie Nielsen: The Explorers, Bracken's World, The New Breed, Peyton Place, The Airplane! Movies and The Naked Gun Movies (as well as Police Squad!), etc.
If we could stretch it between TV and movies: Tom Hanks: Toy Story and Bosom Buddies.
Michael J. Fox: Family Ties and Back to the Future
Christopher Lloyd: Taxi and Back to the Future

All good, no doubt, bud with the exception of RDJ, in my opinion, you can not compare them with Harrison Ford portraying Indy and Solo.
shareIan McKellen : Gandalf in Lord Of The Rings and Magneto in X-Men series
is probably at the same level.
Edit: just realized Patrick Stewart was Cap Picard in Star Trek and Prof Xavier in same X-men series
Tom Cruise : Ethan Hunt in Mission Impossible and Maverick in Top Gun
1 Failed Tom Cruise Movie Franchise Proves His Star Power Better Than Top Gun & Mission Impossible

Although Top Gun and Mission Impossible show how big of a star Tom Cruise is, the best proof is, actually, in one failed movie franchise.
Ian McKellen - Magneto & Gandalf
Patrick Stewart - Charles Xavier & Captain Picard
Well it's already been said but I'll amplify a bit. If one considers film and only film - especially since we are talking major movie characters in HF's case - then one has to go with Sylvester Stallone.
Stallone has two major movie franchise characters, Rocky and Rambo. Multiple films with each. Just like Harrison Ford with Indiana Jones/Han Solo.
I don't know of anyone else that qualifies.
The answer is: No.
Maybe if Robert Downey Jr. makes 1 -2 more Sherlock Holmes that are successful an argument could be made.
I think Sly is second closest but Star Wars + Indy gross more on average than Rocky + Rambo films easily.
Arnold Swartzenegger in Terminator and Conan.
shareKeanu Reeve with Matrix, John Wick and Bill & Ted.
Orlando Bloom in Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean
Jennifer Lawrence in X-Men and Hunger Games
Samuel L. Jackson in Star Wars prequels and Marvel superhero movies.
