Anyway, it took some years but finally someone took the minor bait! (Though I was hoping its not-so-seriousness could be seen, ya know? Lol.) With that outta the way, well right back at you, sir! Now comparisons to the first film aside, Chapter 2 sure seemed to satisfied plenty of folks overall. Nah? It’s alright, V. Now serious or not (bait posts for the detractors are a thing, of course), I agree with all the positive takes. This is [b]easily[/b] one of the better Scream offerings, a total home run for Radio Silence. Though it didn’t completely blow away the last film and take full advantage of its New York setting like I was anticipating (and I loved 5), best since the original I dare say? Tee hee. An overall well-crafted and wildly entertaining film with maybe the best kills. (That vicious opening = amazing.) No, it sucked some say? Kewl yo. But anyway, [i]Killer[/i] sequel.
Yes, what is said about every Oscar favorite+winner only every year. Every year. It doesn’t matter what the film is… even a wholly unique and super well-made one like Everything Everywhere… the negative reactions to a single’s film domination/best pic win at the Oscars are always the same. Now excuse me, but THAT’S comical.
(Lol the Hollywood-hating but obsessed Broflakes being part of the discourse is as comical as it gets, but of course they gotta cry about the woke boogeywoman cuz that’s all they live for. Now Jamie Lee’s win for a rather one-note role/performance was… meh. Like you found the whole film unremarkable, that’s how I felt about this [b]1[/b] performance in this [i]extraordinary[/i] film. But hey, I’ll just move on from this undeserved win! As for Spielberg grinning like a supposed idiot… how dare he be happy for others! Oh no, he faked it! But even if he didn’t, he still an idiot cuz he doesn’t feel the same way as those who know better! Yea…

The MCU doing their own thing… yet not straying too far from the source material actually… is definitely rare. It’s a real world problem! They still did a great disservice to the character? Alright. Yeah, if fighting to the death wasn’t something they were ultimately willing to do, then they should have taken a cue from Margot. Unlikely this would have actually worked of course (perhaps they all felt it was useless), yet what else could they have done besides attempt to fight/obliterate Chef and his minions. But all of them (with the exception of “Margot”) belonged there as far as Slowik was concerned, so eh.
That it’s going to be pretty damn good perhaps. *gasps* Definitely looks exciting, wondrous, and just [b]adventurous[/b]. (This is the wrong kinda take up here, oh dear.)
Au contraire? Well yes… because the [i]teaser[/i] trailer showed the whole film basically. It was enough to confirm the worst — it’s gonna be insulting to Indy and will undoubtedly be worse than Crystal Skull. Plus, obvs it will be everything that all the “real ones” hate about today’s blockbusters/films in general. And yea, because “directionless” and “mind-numbing” over the top action sequences (over the top action in an Indiana Jones film? WHAT?! Unheard of!) defines *the* James Mangold’s work, especially when you look at his most recent celebrated (by the unkewl majority) films. 😑
What, this installment being handled by a highly talented (”supposedly”) filmmaker who makes character+story a priority (ya may not care for him anyway, of course) is irrelevant as the big bad studio attached to it is ultimately still gonna make this what all the tRUe fans don’t want? (Or it’ll suck for ALL the reasons it exists.) Well, one thing’s for sure: places like these will complain endlessly no matter what.

Lol, no. I’m in total agreement. I found that line odd even as a kid — cringey is exactly what it is. This film remains an all-time great piece of superhero cinema overall, but it’s definitely not without cringey lines/moments like this (that one line really stands out, though).
