What did you take from the trailer?

The lack of point and over the top action leads me to believe this will be a mind numbing sequence of action scenes with no idea of direction

reply

That it’s going to be pretty damn good perhaps. *gasps* Definitely looks exciting, wondrous, and just adventurous. (This is the wrong kinda take up here, oh dear.)

Au contraire? Well yes… because the teaser trailer showed the whole film basically. It was enough to confirm the worst — it’s gonna be insulting to Indy and will undoubtedly be worse than Crystal Skull. Plus, obvs it will be everything that all the “real ones” hate about today’s blockbusters/films in general. And yea, because “directionless” and “mind-numbing” over the top action sequences (over the top action in an Indiana Jones film? WHAT?! Unheard of!) defines *the* James Mangold’s work, especially when you look at his most recent celebrated (by the unkewl majority) films. 😑

What, this installment being handled by a highly talented (”supposedly”) filmmaker who makes character+story a priority (ya may not care for him anyway, of course) is irrelevant as the big bad studio attached to it is ultimately still gonna make this what all the tRUe fans don’t want? (Or it’ll suck for ALL the reasons it exists.) Well, one thing’s for sure: places like these will complain endlessly no matter what.

Bring on this film!

Well I'm only judging by the trailer, I see no plot, i see the nostalgia card being played and I see a whole lot of exaggerated, over the top, unrealistic action scenes being sold as the main attraction.

To me that's a big no no

James mangold is directing so i have high hopes for this movie.

On the one hand James Mangold is directing so it might be good. On the other hand I just saw the trailer.

A 3 min teaser trailer that didnt give to much away.

It looks like it's going to have a lot of action and humor. A lot of people are jazzed to see it. I'm skeptical after the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. James Mangold is a good director. I just don't see Harrison Ford pulling off the action.

Are they trying to recreate scenes from some of the older movies? The shot of the circular glasses guy opening the wooden chest struck me as oddly familiar.
