The thing that really matters here, is these were some fun moments with Holland. And realistic or not (he clearly dreamt the man sized bee though), seeing him act that way was both hilarious and interesting. Gosling should do more comedic stuff. One of the top actresses of her generation.... she most definitely is not. In short, she’s no great actress. Having said that, I do think she’s been decent in a few of her roles (LA Confidential being her best work by far, although I echo the sentiments of those who felt her Oscar win was undeserving). But as far as her performance in The Nice Guys go, yeah... she’s as forgettable as it gets. Granted she didn’t have much material to work it, however I’m certain there are many actresses out there that could have at least made this a more memorable, maybe funny, role. Like somebody else said, Basinger brought absolutely nothing to the table. Side note: if Basinger - and other older actresses like her - continue to land good roles in films despite their supposed lack of talent, then more power to them! The douchebros evidently take issue with that XD Well, setting her career aside, one thing is for sure: she has offended some reactionary manbabies/Kens (who continually cry about the big bad woke people that trigger said reactionary Kens who want Hollywood to go back to the good ol’ PC regressive days when exclusion and bootlicking was the shit) because she got some tattoos to apparently express herself and cuz she also changed her last name to something Kens take issue with. LOL. Girl is upsetting salty reactionaries... YASSS! Drive, easily. It may not be the “truest” Refn film, but idc. Remarkable film. 1. The Dark Knight 2. Donnie Darko 3. Frank 4. Stranger Than Fiction 5. Secretary (not a huge fan of it, but... damn, what a role!) Far better than the crap that is crap, of course. But the actual quality stuff that exists in large numbers today? Nope. Oh, there is no good stuff? Well, of course a red pill reactionary boomer/xoomer who thinks he’s an edgy alpha male and calls those who don’t approve of assholes... like people apparently did back in the ‘em good days where the voiceless remained voiceless and couldn’t offend PC cons who grew up in a very vanilla safe space... brainwashed snowflakes will feel that way. (The projection is always strong with the reich wing). K boomer. Dat edge, son! But more importantly, dat desperation to go after an acclaimed franchise and its legion of fans that you couldn’t care less how mind-blowingly stupid you’ll sound. Yup... Davey here is in a movie chat board, something that’s very removed from real life, dissing certain film fans (so edgy, bro) that have gotten 2-3 films... soon that will include tv shows... from a snob-targeted franchise for several years now (only this year they won’t because cinema going as a whole has come to a halt which means franchise and MOVIE FANS IN GENERAL will have to stop living in supposed fantasy worlds according to “superior beings” on frickin’ movie boards) for supposedly having no lives. Yes, this pompous bish is serious. The countless trolls up on this joint notwithstanding (mostly vermin reactionary chuds), oh lawdt the irony and shameless hypocrisy is always strong with the anti-MCU film snobs. They’re truly not trying anymore. Well, give yourself a pat on the back, totally original and brave D! (Btw I was waiting for you to come after the MCU this way having seen your other elitist posts.) Sounding like a true boomer you are... K boomer. Oh, you didn’t? (Noticing a pattern with these dislikes - typical.) Lol. #dealwithitbooma It’s not close to the worst... according to the ratings and some viewers. But if that were the case, then the world may never know. :P They’re certainly nowhere near as cringey as your iM sO eDgY posts, chud. Next lifeless neckbeard (as if this cesspool is running short on them)... It’s riveting. Effective camera work (of course it needs shaking!) and all. A femme fatale... Or something along those lines. A looker alright, but she baaad. Probably. And surprise! Looks like many did, in fact, care about this movie despite what the naysayers thought. This movie was more than watchable - it was a good time. Hate, hate, hate. Yea, you’ve made that abundantly clear. Lol, to hate a piece of entertainment this much... how sad. But looks like hating is your thing in general. Typical reactionary Speak for yourself you do In the name of extreme method acting obviously, lol. Tattoo aside (and what a tattoo), nothing he does to himself to prepare for an acting role surprises me anymore. I mean... whether that stuff he did to prepare for his role in Fury is true or not, he’s clearly become known for going all in for his roles. And it’s been paying off if I do say so myself. Shia‘s gonna Shia. Sure... if he stopped being a Mandalorian. Or maybe he would do it if he were to find himself in a situation that would require him to remove his mask (where there is no other way). But no, doing something like that would be sacrilege to him. There could come a day when he’ll change his mind, but as we’ve seen so far he takes the code very seriously. Well, this is for sure far from the most random post I’ve seen in this white reich wing brobaby-infested board (all those fascist chud tears... salty AF). Lol. But yay, can’t stop the marvelous Brie Larson who is killing it out there, you mofos! ;} Go Brie! While the trailers for the movie weren’t the best (at least the first one), the movie nonetheless piqued my interest from day one. And I felt like going to go see it regardless of the reception it got, but once the overwhelmingly positive reviews for it started coming out (which was definitely a surprise) I was sold! And yup, the movie turned out better than I was expecting. The cast was great (Isabela Merced is pure perfection), the humor was cute, and the whole thing is just a delightful and fun (well-made) adventure. A pleasant surprise indeed. Nay on DeVito. How strangely random would that have been. As for Jason Statham, a number of viewers are convinced that he did indeed play Frank Martin from The Transporter in this film. However, while to some Statham’s cameo was merely a nod to his character from the first Transporter, others aren’t at all convinced that Michael Mann intended to pay homage to a character from a b-grade action movie that came out 2 years earlier. But many have certainly been wondering about this ever since Collateral came out, and rightfully so. Regardless, Mann has neither confirmed nor denied that Statham's role in Collateral is anything more than just a nod to his Transporter character (if it’s even a nod at all, though it’s hard not to link a connection). I guess it’s up to the viewer to decide. I, for one, like to think that there was more to Statham’s brief appearance.
