shareAre you kidding?! Those little bastards stripped his ship and stole his stuff!! He has every reason to be angry and attacking them. However, he did find that his method of getting his stuff back didn't work, though I'm amazed they even wanted to talk to Kuiil and the Mandalorian, after what happened. I guess they knew Kuiil, had done business with him before, and trusted him, unlike the guy who attacked their crawler.
sharei'm happy to hear this as i like the character
shareBasic Disney trope: slaughter the natives and do what you want.
sharethat's what it felt like.
shareYou will recall two facts about this situation:
1.) There was no law and order on that planet outside the towns. You basically could kill whoever you wanted, or do any type of crime, and nobody was gonna arrest you for it, because it was out in the boonies with nobody enforcing any local laws.
2.) Those Jawas were thieves, and had no business getting anywhere near the Mandalorian's ship, nor was it okay for them to steal from him. They are not innocent, noble little natives, by any stretch of the imagination. Jawas are notorious for stealing anything that's not bolted to the floor, which is why they are often seen as 2-legged pests on Tattooine. It appears their behavior is the same no matter what planet they live on.
Replace Jawas with Mexicans and see what you did there. I rest my case.
shareIs this discussion really about Jawas, or about illegal immigration/anti-colonialism? Because if is, we have a political section for that. And keep in mind, I don't think Latin Americans would like being compared to nasty little rat-like alien thieves in robes. That, the star actor of the show is Chilean.
shareAnd some of your friends are African-american, right? This isn't political. It is about the way you judge the Mandalorian's behaviour, shown with a simple comparison. Don't forget we're dealing with a children's show. Violence like the murder of those Jawas is wrong.
And your xenophobia is clear.
Stealing is wrong no matter who you are. It's against the law in most countries. Are you saying that it's okay to steal if you're not white or human? That's not gonna fly in most people's books. Neither is anti-white racism.
You don't seem to know much about Jawas, or you wouldn't be defending them so much. They are stinky little pests, who are notorious for taking what doesn't belong to them, as well as peddling junk to anyone willing to buy said junk. If you saw what they looked like under those hoods, you probably would feel ill. The only reason they "get away" with stealing is because they usually do it very fast, and quickly run off to their sandcrawlers to flee from the law into the desert as fast as possible. It's not unusual for people to use frontier justice and shoot the little bastards in retaliation.
And last time I checked, Jawas are native to Tattooine, not the planet the Mandalorian was visiting. Granted, I wouldn't call them "illegal immigrants," because honestly, there was no real government entity, either in space, or on that planet, stopping them from moving to that planet, but equating them with real-life illegals is a very lazy comparison. Calling me a xenophobe is also a childish last refuge, because you ran out of argument cards in this game.
Now, do you wanta go around again, or shall I slam the Ace card down now?
You have said enough, thank you.
