Just watched it the other night and thought what the hell. He just up and leaves. Guessing they had to fill in some time with his character.

Lets see. He points a loaded gun at a woman and pulls the trigger and kills her. And some do not want him punished. Even if he did not know it was loaded so what. He could and should have checked himself like almost anyone else would. But no. He kills her. A year in prison with early release with good behavior.
