When you make a movie for 4% of the population in the US...

And when you're annoying as heck:

You get a Billy Eichner movie.

This is why Democrat party activists are hell bent on teaching K-12 about explicit gay sex. It's a perverse scheme to increase their numbers.

reply

Go the gay way!!!

reply

Them: "this movie is not for you biggot!"

Person doesn't goes to see the film.

Them: "why didn't you watch my film, biggot?!"

reply

There it is. Democratic whack job thinking in a nutshell.

reply

Yep

My favorite thing about the whole debacle is it showcased how small the gay community actually is vs what's pushed and portrayed in media.

Your logic makes no sense to me. Why do you say it was made FOR 4% of the population (underestimated percentage of gay people in society if you ask me, but that’s another debate) just because it’s ABOUT 4% of the population? Why is it so impossible to conceive that some people might be willing to watch a film about a community they don’t belong to? Look at it this way, what percentage of the population are serial killers? 1% at a stretch maybe? Does that mean serial killer movies are only made for serial killers to watch?

Look, they obviously overestimated the general population’s interest in this type of film, and I certainly don’t agree with blaming straight people for it’s underperformance.. but they clearly made it with the intention that people of all walks of life might be interested in seeing it. I reject the assumption that it was only made for the gays.

I believe the 4% is the rough estimate for the entire alphabet affiliated population, not just the "G". I can't say for sure but beyond lip service support of anything alphabet related, I'd wager that most lesbians are likely 99% more interested in media specifically about lesbianism.

reply

I feel you’re missing my point, but to yours, I’d estimate 99% of all LGBT people are happy to watch stories about people of ALL sexualities, and it’s odd to me that some straight people have such a bug up their ass about this little old gay movie.

reply

My point was that this is a movie aimed at a niche target audience that's lower than the already low 4% that was suggested. I think you're missing the point that while sure lesbians may enjoy regular movies as much as the next person, when it comes specifically to movies aimed at the alphabet spectrum, they're going to be far more interested in projects specifically involving lesbianism and aren't going to be nearly as interested in movies or shows about dude on dude action. Similarly, I don't think it's as much about straight people having a bug up their ass as much as a movie's theme focusing on homosexual men & what may or may not be up their asses being something that by default, simply does not appeal to them. I haven't seen anything to suggest that people especially care one way or the other (if they even know this movie exists at all) & it's not like audiences should feel obligated to be interested in it.

This isnt just a story about people who happen to be gay.It looks like its all gaygaygay in your face for an hour and a half.which is fine to have a movie like that but dont be surprised when majority of people dont feel like paying money to see it.

reply

This movie would only appeal to leftists obsessed with identity politics. It’s clear from the trailer that it’s about the type of vacuous gay urbanites whose sexual preference is their whole identity. Then there’s the ridiculous board room scene where various LBGT members play the oppression olympics.

I have nothing against watching gay/les/bi characters, but I’m not going to watch annoying characters who think being a sexual minority is a replacement for a personality trait or accomplishment.

reply

Multiple jokes in the trailer alone were pretty much "Hahaha, aren't straight people dumb and boring" Why would a person go see a movie that openly mocks them throughout?

reply

Not even that 4% came out to "support" this movie.

I have NEVER in my life paid to watch a movie to "support" it... I go for my own selfish entertainment.

reply

Yeah. They could've cleaned up at the box office, by making that long-delayed sequel to Brokeback Mountain: "Brokeback Mountain 2: Cowgirls In Love"

reply

Well its obvious that Billy Eichner is a racist and he targeted that woman only because she is black and he wanted to humiliate her. Why no one calls him on that?

But damn that women. She was so sweet and polite all the time. Can you imagine that you just stay there and wait to cross the street and then some crazy lunatic jumps at you and starts to scream some nonsense into you thinking that he is funny or something. And his public knows about his arrogant approach but those poor people on the street have no idea and I’m sure that absolute majority of them just think that this is crazy mentally ill person and that they should lay low and be polite until crazy will go away.
