It has to be remembered that the wet squad were professional assassins. That's why Reacher had to take them out one by one. The last guy caught him off guard. It doesn't matter how big you are. Someone who know how can take you out, no matter his size (or your size).
The guys in the prison may have been buff and tough, but Reacher knew how to handle them.
For me it was that we stacked up about 50 bodies in this small town, many of them killed in outlandishly gruesome serial killer fashion, and it didn't garner any national interest at all.
shareYeah. I figured he would want to be somewhat stealthy but he is just beating people up in public than racking up a huge death toll. In the age of camera phones and the internet his antics would have gone viral. I kept wondering how is he going to go to the next town to do it all over again (presumably that will be the premise for each season) when he has been a bull in a China shop the whole time.
shareExactly. This kind of storyline felt a lot more plausible back in the 80s. Even in the 90s when the book was written. You have to exercise a bit of disbelief now to buy into it.
shareIt reminded me of another show called "Banshee" where a guy (an ex con no less) assumes the identity of a new Sherriff in town. It would have worked great prior internet and computers but is a stretch in our era.
You can just see Reacher arriving in the next town "Hey, look there's that huge guy who just beats people up!"

sharelol and why not just take that dog from the guy in the first place? Guy is obviously a joke and unimpressed by muscles on Reacher. Why keep letting the dog suffer, why show restraint in that case but others just take knee jerk meat head action?
