For Crying Out Loud

Please DO NOT use the Joker as the main villain. In fact don’t use the Joker at all. We have enough adaptations of the Joker, use a villain who has still yet to make it to the big screen such as The Black Mask (would be awesome) or Hugo Strange.

YOU KNOW....I LOVVVVEEE YOUUUU🎵

R.I.P. MEAT LOAF🪦

reply

Like seriously, in the past 13 years we have gotten 4 live screen adaptations of the Joker that I can think of: Heath Ledger, Joaquin Phoenix, Jared Leto and whoever played that cameo at the end of the first movie. Move on and do something new.

reply

Why would they move on? Did you mind another Batman? These characters are the best box office play, and that's all that matters.

reply

Whether the movie makes money or not means nothing to me. Also Batman is the main character so he has to be in it, The Joker is not.

reply

Yeah, but when you say "We have enough" that means you and a small slice. And there didn't have to be yet another Batman movie at all. But both Batman and Joker work for the more important "We," the "We" that doesn't know about or give a crap about The Black Mask or Hugo Strange. That's the "We" that drives decisions, and you'll be right there next to them in the theater.

reply

You will be paying to see it regardless. Just like how you did with the Disney Star Wars films.

reply

Funny how you think you still have the right to talk to me. Go back to your safe space you loser

reply

I spit out truth. Just thought I'd call you out on your crap.

reply

GTF out of here, until you’re ready to apologize don’t even bother

reply

Never going to apologize for telling the truth.

reply

Then don’t even bother talking to me you racist.

reply

Hope so too. I'm okay if they use him a little bit, like, I appreciated the way he was implemented in The Batman. But I'd rather the movie focus on other sections of Batman's rogues gallery.

I'd love to see Clayface. Reeves' universe might not be the best place for that, but I think they could totally do a reinvention of clayface the way that they did with riddler.

reply

I'd have the Joker used in every movie as a third string character or even just a cameo. His only purpose is to represent the chaos of Gotham. We never see Batman going up against him. He's just something that exists like the boogyman.

reply

And he's always weak too.

reply

I think it would be cool if they use The Joker in a Silence of the Lambs kind of way. Batman would go to Arkham Asylum to try to obtain information on how a madman's mind works. I think Two-Face as the main villain would be the best way to go.

reply

That might work, but we need to start utilizing villains that haven’t yet made it to the big screen. I mean in the first one both the villains have already appeared in the Burton-Schumacher universe, and hell we just got like the 4th big screen adaptation of Catwoman (I did not like Zoe Kravitz BTW)

reply

The things is that all the remaining Batman villains that haven't been used are too comical that it wouldn't work in this world. Clayface? King Tut? Maybe the Mad Hatter.

reply

Mad Hatter could work, Black Mask could work as could Hugo Strange.

Even the more comical ones I feel they could be adapted in a serious manner given there are talented writers. Hell Bane was a joke until Nolan fixed him.

reply

I agree it's time for another villain to shine. I'd like Scarecrow, with Reeves really leaning into the horror elements of the hallucinations. Nolan touched on it in Batman Begins, but this time dial it up to 11. I've always regretted that Scarecrow never appeared in the Burtonverse, but a really dark version here could make up for that.

reply

Clay Face!

reply

Rumors are that Clayface will be the main villain in the next one. Joker might get a cameo or something

reply

Joe Biden would make a good villain. but he would be too easy to beat.
