A person paid to go live with this guy every day of his life and pretend to love him and have sex with him every day, even be willing to have a baby with this guy all for an acting role? You'd never be able to leave, maybe you could sneak out for a few hours while pretending to be at your job. That's just creepy.

shareIt has been a while since I have seen it but I remember the scene where he goes to her work and she is all nervous because she is supposed to be operating on someone and she is all prepped and ready to start cutting and she is waiting for the co-stars to get him out of there.
Did she always have to hang around the medical set in case he stopped by or had he given her some notice or mention that he was going to go to the hospital...hence she knew ahead of time she would need to be there.
He did not give him a heads-up that he was coming. I think the actors were relaxing in hospital scrubs so that if he accidentally shows up they can quickly pretend to work.

As a nurse she could have a 12 hour shift job that would give her at least half the day off. Plus she probably visited her out of town "mother" often by herself. To keep up with the illusion she would have to be on "call" at all times. One of the deleted scenes showed that his wife beat out several other actresses on the show for the job.

We live in a world that puts prostitution on a pedestal.
You have to understand that when the wife got into the picture she was a teenager herself... essentially a child actor who was manipulated by her parents most likely...she grew with Truman and matured. She probably wasn't in love with him, but I'm sure there was some feelings for him that made the situation easier for her to accept...she probably got paid very well for being a very important character on the show...and when Truman is off at work every day she gets free time to herself..the show can easily write in something to where they could be days or even weeks apart from each other so she could have vacation time.
