The unpopular former president is all over pop-culture history, from cameos on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Sex and the City to being name-dropped in one of the biggest Friends moments. Recently, Macaulay Culkin made headlines for endorsing erasing Trump from Home Alone 2. But erasing Trump from pop-culture is a bad idea, says Alex Zaragoza. "As much as we'd like to forget the last four years and the hell Trump wrought upon the world, I'd argue that it's important that we never forget," says Zaragoza. "It might be easy to delete a scene for our own comfort, but Trump's legacy shouldn't be scratched out of history. The longer we remember the atrocities at the border, the stoking of misinformation and violent sedition, the allegations of sexual misconduct, the racist rhetoric that's placed lives at risk, the complete and utter stupidity, and so much more—the longer we're reminded—the better chance we have that we don't end up in a mess like this again. Totally agreed, Donald Trump has made many of my Jesus loving Christian friends happy when he became president, it's really sad Trump became hated and persecuted for wanting to bring America back to its former glory.

Their hatred would change if they actually looked into what he did during his presidency.

Meanwhile none of these same people can tell us anything positive that Bo Jiden has done during his term so far. They just fall back on "at least he's not trump". Its not thinking critically, its just sad and disappointing.

I didnt become right leaning until all this vitriol was spewed and agendas became worrisome as they tried to jam it down everyones throats.

I actually didnt like trump for the first couple of years, I didnt now anything about him except he was rich and seemed very arrogant and full of himself. But when I finally took the time to look into the guy he was a good president. Despite his arrogance and "locker room talk" the guy did do things that helped our country and the people in it.

This cannot be written or said for jiden. The only thing I agreed with that he did was pull our troops out of iraq, BUT even that he botched up : ( it really felt like someone told old bo jiden to get the troops out immediately and thats what he did, logic, reason, and tactical planning be damned. It cannot be ignored that china came in to mine lithium immediately after our troops were gone.

I have a lot of respect for police officers. Though I have experienced bigoted egomaniacs with badges berating and threatening me. I also met good men and women in uniform, doing their best to help people and actually be positive role models. Its a tough job, and they have their limits, but most seem to do their best.

Yeah, critiques against Trump are often lazy and focused entirely on his character, than the actual policies. I'm a not a fan of the man myself because when you start having to rely on ad hominems to knock on him, it's kinda stupid and you blindly miss out on the positive things that did emerge from his tenure.

With Biden...yeah...this was just a lazy stopgap to remove Trump from office, and as we enter in his term, there's really nothing to cheer on now that he's in.

I agree with your assessment. Its like that tactic people use where they name call nasty things toward you when they begin losing the argument.

It seems like they chose the ones that they thought could win against trump. The racist whites would vote for old joe, the stock president that we all know and love. Kamala was to grab the vote of anyone of any herirtage with brown skin pigment. Together they formed the most inept race baiting couple of losers this world has ever seen.

Im just using their mindset, thats how they view us all. A bunch of racist idiots who fall for their same bullcrap when they campaign. Telling us whatever they can to get us to choose them. Its seriously frustrating that people do not think critically anymore.

I think in this point of time, more people are seeing that all these puppet politicians are not making decisions, someone (or something) else is calling the shots...and its not in our best interest.

Trump invited mob violence against the Capitol and its police. Those arrested had credited Trump for encouraging them to come and become violent based on his lie.

Trump refused to take any action against Covid for a month even though both the national defense and health advisors begged him to act immediately to avoid its exponential spread into the U.S.. He only acted after the stock market went down and Covid had a huge start in the U.S..

Against medical advice, Trump encouraged people not to wear masks, not to social distance nor take the vaccine. Compared to other western nations, Covid skyrocketed in the U.S. causing hundreds of thousands of unnecessary deaths. Trump had no plan to distribute the vaccines because of his inexperience. Biden got the vaccine to people. Right now, it's Trump followers who are being hospitalized and dying in large numbers.

Numerous mass murderers cited Trump for encouraging them to kill based on bigotry. Trump encouraged hate groups with his kind words for the mob who shouted "Jews will not replace us!" Anti-Asian hatred and attacks skyrocketed thanks to Trump's repeated anti-Asian diatribe. Biden has reversed Trump's pro-domestic terrorism policy. National security and the FBI have stepped up surveillance and arrests of violent groups and individuals.

Trump gave rich people a huge tax break which was to be paid for by the middle-class after a few years. Biden is stopping this w/BBB.

Both Iran and North Korea went nukes thanks to Trump. Biden is talking with Iran on Monday to undo Trump's damage.

The economy almost collapsed thanks to Trump. Record unemployment. Record bankruptcies. Biden fixed the economy and unemployment is low. The economy is hot right now. Stock market is breaking records.

Biden passed the infrastructure bill which is something numerous presidents have failed to do.

Trump lost the tariff war with China. Trump had to bribe aka: subsidize farnrs who lost Chinese business customers.

Both China and Russian became more powerful under Trump. Both know that Biden is not going to kiss their butt like Trump did.

Trump refused to go to daily briefings about national security and other important issues. Instead, he watched TV, tweeted and played golf. Trump is the laziest president in history. Biden works.

Trump has numerous broken campaign promises. No wall paid by Mexico. No revive of the coal industry. No high-paying factory jobs. No reigning in Russia and China. No strong economy. No ending the swamp especially since Trump was the swampiest.

Trump invited the Taliban to lunch at Camp David. He then surrendered to them and withdrew troops which allowed the Taliban to strengthen and takeover Afghanistan before Biden was sworn in.

Trump sucked up to numerous dictators and killers while throwing our allies under the bus. The world is relieved that crazy man Trump is gone and a sane man is president again.

Look. I appreciate the effort but truth be told, I can't stand the amount of political talk that happens on this site. I shared my solidarity with the other poster as a sense of support, but I've no interest in engaging in a deepened conversation on the matter. At a glance, I see no ad hominems, you're correct. But from a quick glance alone, I see a number of things that are untrue or misrepresented or irrelevant. I could argue further and we could exchange sources. But I genuinely don't think any good will come out of it. And frankly, as far as real world issues go on here, I'm not particularly interested in discussing presidential politics.

This is the second time in which you hint at something positive about Trump, but fail to mention it. I'll assume you don't because you can't.

I just wanted to make the point that there was plenty wrong with Trump's inept presidency.

This has zip to do with politics, but basic human decency. Trump's cavalier response, "It is what it is." in regard to scores of American Covid deaths. Most people don't want to see that sociopath in Home Alone 2.

Answer the question. Why are you allowed to obsess over someone, but call out other people who do it? It's a mostly rhetorical question, admittedly. We all know why you are allowed that privilege and seek to shame others for exercising the same right, but it's good to occasionally give people like you the opportunity to prove you are the idiot we already know you are.

There is now a follow up question though. Why do you think nobody except one other person you argued with before, can hold an opinion different to you? Again, rhetorical... Denial, end of story.

It's a business decision. Home Alone and its sequels are light family escapism. The network, which paid big money to air the movie, wants to keep it that way by removing derisive politics.

Networks always remove anything that isn't "light" in family movies. You should have seen how much the "Airplane" movie was edited when that was first aired on TV.
