Was Cliffhanger (1993) a better movie than Die Hard 2?

Cliffhanger is worth watching once or twice. It's a decent movie with some funny parts. But, it's not better than Die Hard 2.

I don't even remember Cliffhanger, but for John Lithgow hamming things up.

They are both pretty solid 90s action movies, but I would rate Die Hard 2 slightly above Cliffhanger.

Renny Harlin had a nice run in the early 90s. I love his winter trilogy: Die Hard 2, Long Kiss Tonight, and Cliffhanger, two of which are Christmas movies.

Cliffhanger was good but Die Hard 2 was definitely the better movie.

I love Cliffhanger more, but I think DH2 is a better movie. It's more exciting, at least. There's a few bits to DH2 that just bug me after having watched it 5000 times over the years. Namely the bullet switch. There's a few scenes which don't hold up logically. Plus Cliffhanger is just absolutely gorgeous. Certainly more emotional impact in Cliffhanger. But the action scenes in DH2 are just absolutely iconic. Plus the shock and awe factor of the plane crash absolutely trumps the hell out of a dropping a girl. To this day it's one of the most insane villain moves i've ever seen in a movie.
