Lost my respect

I used to like this guy.

Now I think he is a fucking moron, like any other anti-vaxer defiling MY planet.

reply

He's right about some things. He's very wrong about *this*. But it's another example of the horseshoe theory when it comes to politics. The far-left and the far-right are united over stuff like vaccinations, Ukraine/Russia, and many conspiracy theories in general. This is yet another example of why extremism, of any sort, often leads to irrational thinking and absurd conclusions.

reply

It's pretty pathetic that we are blaming people who had nothing to do with the creation of the virus, but are just concerned that the vaccine might end up impairing their health, instead of China who are the ones who actually released the virus.

reply

China didn't intentionally release the virus. They've suffered more than most, even three/four years in to the pandemic.

There are people who still need to be investigated and held to account, assuming we ever isolate the root cause of the virus, but that doesn't entail blaming *all* of China.

And in the meantime, we have to trust scientists who are developing vaccines for the public's health. They have no motive to hoodwink and betray the rest of us, and the vaccines have been shown to work, with only limited side-effects.

reply

Whether they did or didn't, it's still their fault, and yes it is 100% China's fault.

And your last paragraph was beyond ignorant considering the left's cult leader Anthony Fauci has been caught lying about the origins of the virus, that lockdowns wouldn't do anything to slow the spread, that masks were pointless. If you seriously don't think this issue has become political then you have your head up your ass. Also I'm not sure if you know this but "shut up and trust the scientists" is the complete opposite of how science works, science is supposed to actively try to debunk itself.

reply

I didn't say 'shut up and trust the scientists'. In fact, I think it's always a good thing to question authority/hold authority to account, and to never take anything for granted.

My point is that we shouldn't assume that the scientists have malign intentions. This isn't the Tuskegee Syphillis Study trials. The COVID vaccines were rolled out to everyone, so it's not rational to believe that the scientists weren't acting in good faith, but, of course, science should always self-check, scientists should always be honest with respect to mistakes, and we should always strive to expand our knowledge.

reply

Well we know that Anthony Fauci wasn't acting in good faith, he was saying what the DemoKKKrat cult told him to so he could advance their fascist and radical agenda.

And everyone's medical history is different and it's also not the governments business. The DemoKKKrats were trying to force a "one size fits all" plan on us and it's not that simple.

EDIT: Also science is determined by evidence and testing, not the opinions of people who happen to be scientists.

reply

He went up in my book. If he's "losing" respect from the leftist hive mind, he's doing something right.

reply

Exactly, the fact that he's losing respect among the left means he is gaining respect among rational, level headed people.

reply

I am not a leftist.
I am more purple than he claims to be.

reply

By "Anti-Vaxer" I'm guessing you really mean: Someone who doesn't agree with the government forcing vaccines to combat a virus that China released on people without knowing a thing about their medical history/conditions.

reply

Well, Woody tried to "cushion the blow" by first announcing he's an anarchist/Marxist, that should cheer you up.

reply

Speaking even as a fairly left Libertarian Socialist, I have to say, that the exteme-left and the extreme-right are practically as nutty as one another, and when it comes to some issues like vaccines, Russia/Putin, and 'global Jewish conspiracies', they're sometimes equally as bad.

reply

The ‘extreme-right’ is so microscopically small and utterly powerless that it can barely be said to exist, whereas the Extreme Left has captured all major institutions and governs culture, there’s no equivalence between the two and the latter is far more pernicious.

reply

I always have to tell you to....STFU...so STFU

reply

Absolutely right

reply

Make sure you tighten your muzzle before you go outside. It's noble work you're doing.

reply

He was so amateurish on SNL. Line flubs left and right. Shouting his lines. He is not a live performer.

reply

I saw a couple skits and he was clearly just reading from the cue cards.

reply

The skits have always been fully written out on cue cards for everyone, so once they're there, it's easy to use them as a crutch so that you don't screw up on Live TV.

reply

Of course. But most of the performers or guests don't just look at the cards the entire time. Or they hide it better.

reply

Just from his monologue, it was pretty clear he was high, drunk, or both. He admitted to bringing a huge stash of pot with him from LA to NYC.

reply

But the Cologuard skit was hilarious!

reply

It was pre-taped. Harrelson clearly made zero effort to memorize the live scripts.

reply

I agree, huge difference between pre-recorded skits and live skits. I thought his acting was spot-on, in the Cologuard skit though. Live TV isn't for everyone.

reply

I like a lot of his projects. Looking forward to White House Plumbers on HBO.
