I'd always hoped the world would avoid yet another senseless war. Unfortunately, we still have dictators who think that no matter how much land they rule, it's never enough.

I think Putin is close to dying and wants a legacy. This won't end well for him.

Same here. I worry that Putin won't stop there. There might even be other dictators who would like to do the same thing. "I want it, so I'll just invade and take it."

We haven't been doing that lately... is a better way to put it. This is a very much a return to norm.
