Do some people dislike you for no reason at all?

I found at work or just life in general I've come across people who haven't liked me, even though I did nothing to them,it's frustrating especially how I'm polite and did nothing to them, anyone else have experiences like this?

reply

Yes, but only the assholes and who cares about them?

reply

I'll remember this the next time you call me an asshole because you've given me plenty of reasons to not only dislike, but to despise you. See how that works, dumbo?

reply

🤡

reply

Got it. Now you've returned to the "single emoji" comeback/strategy.

reply

👀

reply

Like MaximRecoil said recently....."idiocy."

does these actually work?? seem to :D

reply

db deserves the shortest and most silly responses you can think of

Honestly, that loser creep is a bag of garbage on the sidewalk in The Bronx in August and he is totally offensive to everyone in the area…You’d be silly to go anywhere near this trash👍

reply

The real assholes are the ones who would leave a bag of garbage on the sidewalk in The Bronx in August! Cretins!

reply

I see yukkers acquired another ass-kissing minion. He needs all he can rally behind him, to prop him up, because he sure as hell won't ever be able to stand on his own.

reply

One reply and I'm a "minion kissing ass"?
might want to have your preception checked by a medical professional soon.

meanwhile, since I dont do emojis....

HERE'S A BALL! WHO'S A GOOD BOY? WHO'S A GOOD BOY! YOU A GOOD BOY! GET THE BALL! GET THE BALL! FETCH!! FETCH!! GO!! GO!! GO!! GOOD BOY!

reply

"does these actually work??"
Maybe you should return to grade school and learn basic grammar. And it's perception, not "preception", ignoramus.

"...since I don't do emojis...."
But you believe they "seem" to work. (eye-roll)

reply

wow. so much fail in each or your sentences, not even worth replying. :)
good luck in life. :)

reply

"...not even worth replying..."

And yet you did. (eye-roll)

reply

That one is not worth your time, he’s a seething, nasty oddball

Oh, and you got the ‘minion’ job lol

reply

I bow to no man :)

reply

‘Minion’…what a dope that guy is!

Stand tall, do your thing bud

reply

But you're still doing a good job of being an ass-kissing minion.

reply

reply

No, I always try to give them a good reason to dislike me.

reply

Say, aren't you the one who posted about a work relation suddenly cooling off and another time about coworkers not talking to you?

Sounds like "no reason" may not be so accurate.

But benefit of the doubt. Do you wear buttons that make ethical or political statements? Do you speak ill of any demographic but think it is fine because of perceived common opinion? Do you listen? Do you only talk about yourself? Do you interrupt?

Sometimes people react chemically to one another. Take it all in stride but do have a look at your behavior.

reply

I'm sure it's the same person.

reply

No. There's always a reason. Usually it's down to lobster business.

reply

[deleted]

What does ‘lobster business’ mean?
Am I missing a movie reference here?

reply

It's a Jordan Peterson reference to do with dominance and animal hierarchies.

reply

Oh, thanks

reply

I usually find it to be cats.

reply

They may not have a good reason, but they have a reason.

reply

Reminds me of a Bill Hicks standup:

Stranger: What's wrong?

BH: ??? Nothin'.

Stranger: It takes more energy to frown than to smile.

BH: It takes more energy to point that out than to just leave me alone.

reply

I love it! So quotable.

In that vein, there are some people that are "nice" on paper, are "friendly" to me, but nonetheless rub me like sand paper. They try too hard to be friendly. They ask me a barrage of questions that I find too personal coming from someone I'm not ( yet ) friends with, ask me if there's anything wrong just because I'm not giddily tap dancing and singing etc.

reply

Kind of a side note but I've found that some people are very nice on the phone but when you meet them, they're really not nice at all and some that you think are not nice on the phone are VERY nice in person. Strange.

missnat, I say this with caring and kindness: you are not going to get the answers you seek on MovieChat. You seem confused and unhappy. My heart goes out to you in a supportive and not condescending way. You would benefit from professional help, and that does NOT mean that I think you are “crazy” or have something wrong with you! You are confused and in pain, and a professional counselor can help you sort this out. I’d recommend a Social Worker. Did you know that most Social Workers have more training in clinical psychology than most psychiatrists? (A psychiatrist is a shrink who can prescribe drugs, so his focus is on drugs and not on feelings.) Social work is often free. I like you and I want you to feel better. God bless you.

reply

I would say that there would be a reason, I'm just not aware of that reason. That reason also might not have anything to do with me.
