Why do people act like having kids and giving birth is a miracle?

It’s not a miracle, it’s a simple biological process and bodily function. Even the most basic organisms reproduce, it is anything but a miracle. Getting knocked up and becoming a single mother is not an accomplishment. Congrats on continuing the cycle of broken homes, poverty and mediocrity.

Yes, of course your kids are special to you and it’s the most important moment in your life. That doesn’t make it a miracle, why does spirituality have to be brought into anything that overwhelms people emotionally?

SOME OF YOUR POSTS ARE JUST PLAIN STUPID.

reply

I still can't decide whether he's trolling or just a miserable person.

If you're reading, MB, perhaps start more positive threads instead of complaining all the time about mundane things like waiting in the drive though line.

reply

Bump

reply

You're welcome.

reply

*cough* virgin *cough*

reply

Ah there’s the classic simp reaction

reply

Clearly. Not that there’s anything wrong with that

reply

Of course. Nothing wrong with that. However, wailing and crying about women and not getting laid, that's when my patience wears thin.

reply

Even Mother of God is a virgin.

reply

Do you have kids?

reply

No lol but I’d feel the same if I did. I’m talking from a scientific standpoint not an emotional one.

reply

You can talk about LSD from a scientific standpoint too, but until you’ve been on the psychedelic voyage, you know nothing.

reply

Yeah yeah like I said I understand how strong a parent’s love for their children is. Still not a miracle, neither are sex or love. An I ntense emotional response to something doesn’t make it supernatural, sorry.

reply

A miracle doesn't have to be supernatural. Missing a fatal accident, say a plane crash or a gunshot to the head, can be said to be miraculous too. Yet nothing supernatural about it.

reply

Science is miraculous

reply

holding your baby for the first time is out of this world. i only got to do it once.

reply

Yeah I’m not diminishing that. I’m saying it’s not a miracle, big difference.

reply

its a metaphorical miracle you idiot.
People dont be like "ooh this proves god exists , jeesuz himself musta put that baby inthere!

It relates to the whole penomenon of life in the universe

So you're basically asking "Why is life called a miracle in the phrase 'the miracle of life' "
which again is a metaphorical miracle , it can be explainined by science - just about .
but its pretty .... special?
miraculous one might even say

reply

Now we’re getting into semantics. Let’s just agree that getting pregnant is not an accomplishment deserving of special praise (unless there are fertility issues) and that childbirth is a normal function of the human body, regardless of how magical the moment is for the parent.

reply

Well everything first time is only doable once.

reply

I think he means he had only one child

reply

not if you have more that one kid.

reply

My first daughter literally landed in my open hands during her delivery. It was one of the most surreal moments of my life. My second daughter's birth was videotaped in its entirety. I'm sure if you saw yourself coming into this world via a video, you'd experience a sense of that "overwhelming" emotion.

reply

Again, it is still factually NOT a miracle.

reply

Since you're the authority then, define a factual miracle.

reply

There is no such thing! That’s the point!!

“an effect or extraordinary event in the physical world that surpasses all known human or natural powers and is ascribed to a supernatural cause.”

Do you believe in fairies or magic??

reply

So, as a completely disgruntled postal worker, irritated and angry with every aspect of his life, you can make that definitive judgement. I can see why your opinion is so authoritative. Got it.

reply

Don’t resort to childish insults because you can’t handle science and the challenge it presents to your mystical world view. I’m sorry there are no magic sky fairies, we’re just animals buddy.

reply

I'm just pointing out your obvious track record here. I scored very high in science in school, btw. I'm not your buddy, either. I'm temporarily humoring your bs while taking a break from watching movies. If we're all just animals, then you're just raging in frustration because you're at the bottom of the food chain.

reply

How am I at the bottom of the food chain? 😂 this oughta be good. I can’t keep track of users here so I’m not sure which snowflake you are.

reply

Ah, science guy has to resort to the overused yet ever reliable label of "snowflake", in order to drive home his point "objectively".

What you apparently really can't keep track of is, what that point actually is. First it was about childbirth not being miraculous. Then it became about denouncing miracles in general. Now it's supposedly all about dead beat dads and unwed young mothers and what they presumably post on social media. Yeah, you really appear to be on solid ground with your perspective there, science guy.

reply

ignore this guy, he has serious delusions of self worth and grandeur. Its clear that the movie chat boards are his entire life. He makes insane assertions and insults that seem to revolve around others having no worth and relating to him being the most important entity on here.

reply

So, you tracked me to this board to tell this poster to do something you're unable to, that is, ignore me. And you claim to have completely psychoanalyzed me after a brief encounter in a discussion forum. I'm very surprised you haven't claimed to be "astonished" by any of my responses to you.
