Veruca Salt was spoiled, not greedy
That's how we all watch movies. Stop acting like your weirdly specific observations are normal
Not even close. Most of his films are fine. Only a few are great. This one goes in the list of films that are fine
Don't tell me you think War of the Worlds is a great movie
Reported
Do you like Giallo? If so you can explain its merits or ask me to explain my grievances
Otherwise spare me your film geek reactionary groupthink snobbery
How can you tell how big his hands are compared to others?
I don't think that's saying much. Giallo is not a particularly good subgenre IMO
But I think Suspiria is an all-time great Horror movie and 100 times better than Plumage
I doubt that he cares. I don't know what responsibility an overexposed star has to produce quality work, but historically guys like Johnson eventually flame out and their schtick starts leading to high-profile flops
Johnson seems to live in his own reality, like other weirdly self-motivated people like Tom Cruise. I wish TC would do more dramas and villain roles, but he has his own agenda
I think Johnson does have presidential ambitions and his movie choices are more about playing it safe than creating art
My pleasure. I like reading online scripts too! I haven't read Psycho, but I have read the ones for many of my other favorites like Taxi Driver and Rosemary's Baby
Oppenheimer just because of the stacked cast
And Scream 6 and MI 7 because I like those franchises. I feel like the new Blade will be a CGI fest and I hate CGI vampires/zombies
Zero interest in any of the others
This is a really bad idea. No offense to Lizzy Caplan but she isn't in Glenn Close's league in terms of acting chops
The story was already almost perfectly told, Douglas and Close are so good together, we've already seen the outcome that you get when you tell this story with B-listers: Swimfan
The Bird With The Crystal Plumage sucked
I think he has a strange personality. If he were a malicious person he would quickly be labeled a narcissist, but he seems to be very nice. He's also not a pushover. He comes across fake sometimes, but he actually stood up to Vin Diesel more than Justin Lin did. So I don't think he's an ass kisser
Ultimately I think he is just extremely ambitious. I doubt that he reveres the art of film, he just happens to be a movie star
I have no doubt that as he gets older and gets tired of taking steroids that he will move on to business or politics, which I think are his true passions
I loved him back in the WWF days, though. He was an incredible entertainer back in the day
Quality thread. My favorite part was the ellipses
Now that I realize he was talking about panties the post makes a lot more sense
Lol the OP reads like it was written by a bot
Lol
Pretty sure Gray Man dashed whatever hopes this guy had of playing Bond. He was the least convincing part of the whole movie
That's a shame if Hitchcock butchered the emotional core of his own masterpiece just to settle a few scores
But from what little I know of Hitchcock it does sound like something he would do
I still think it's one of the greatest thrillers of all time, but as somebody who has a sister that I love very much the ending went beyond my personal ability to suspend disbelief
It's like finding a dead bug at the bottom of one of the nicest meals you ever had
I appreciate you adding this context though. It's very interesting. I love movie production history
In that case that's a very good question. You are right, the phrase "mental health issues" stands as more of a placeholder for a real explanation more than anything else. It's a very vague umbrella term for what is likely a bunch of very different potential causes
Heck, if demonic possession, or something like it, were real it could hypothetically be classified as a type of mental health issue itself. That is how broad and fuzzy our current conception of mental health is
