DC Fans Have Become Dangerously Obsessed With Snyderverse
And terrified of moving away from it by a square inch, they won't accept any DC film that isn't directed by Zack Snyder or set in the same universe.

shareYou are confusing DC Fans with Snyderites. I am a proud DC fan and I have proudly hated the Snyderverse since day one. I will happily watch GOOD adaptations of DC characters that have nothing to do with the Snyderverse, like Superman & Lois. The Snyderverse is an abomination an an insult to DC fans.
shareThe only real hits of DCEU are Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Shazam. Half of the cast like Cavill and Affleck etc are not gonna come back, since Whedon JL there's already the impression Cavill is at the end of his tenure as Superman but Snyder fans refuse to see that. It's time to move on from Snyderverse with Superman & Lois and The Batman.
shareI'm weary about Superman & Lois as well as The Batman, the former because it's on CW, and the latter because it's yet ANOTHER Batman reboot with a lot of behind-the-scenes drama suggesting it's doomed to fail.
shareThe behind the scenes drama are all just rumours and has been delayed a few times due to covid. They had no choice do another Batman reboot cause DCEU films weren't well received, Affleck went into rehab, a new film needed a new Batman and the filmmakers knew it. Superman & Lois being CW isn't a reason to put it down since people have been saying really good things about it.
shareThe CW has a bad reputation, hence my apprehension to give Superman & Lois a chance. Whether it gets cancelled, or future seasons are utter crap, I don't expect too much from it. Supernatural was the only genuinely good show to come from the CW, and even then only the first 5 seasons were good.
Maybe I'm wrong, and maybe I'll give it a chance if the good reception persists longer than I expect it to, but I doubt it.
As for The Batman, it was a reboot that didn't need to happen. WB brought the bad reception on themselves when they decided to meddle instead of giving the directors more freedom, that, and giving Zack Snyder more control over the DCEU than necessary. Along with no clear plan for the DCEU and instead making scattered unconnected movies post Justice League, most of which have sucked, The Batman is looking more and more like a train-wreck waiting to happen. WB could've easily waited till Affleck was out of rehab before resuming filming.
Snyderverse was already shit to begin with with.

Uh, which is it?
The answer, btw, is the latter. Snyder hated Superman and proceeded to turn the character into something he liked, which was entirely alien to the many versions of the character we've always had. He was then given control of developing the entire DCEU.
What I think that person was trying to say was that Snyder initially had too much control over the DCEU, then when it turned out his vision wasn’t a good one, WB overcompensated by impulsively meddling with movies like Suicide Squad and Justice League, and we know how they turned out.
shareThe meddling made bad movies worse but they were already really bad--and, more to the point, ill-conceived--movies in the first place. The studio's screw-up was in turning to Snyder in the first place. Then, when he took a massive dump on Superman, they had him do another. Then, when he turned out one of the most embarrassingly bad things they'd ever put in theaters, they gave him yet another, with the promise of still another after that.
They failed at every stage of the process until the burgeoning franchise they hoped to create was in ruins.
>> As for The Batman, it was a reboot that didn't need to happen <<
The Snyderverse is ITSELF "a reboot that didn't need to happen"
Brandon Routh did a great job as Superman and they never gave him a second chance. Their "reboot" to "fix" the problems of Superman Returns got WORSE reviews than Routh's film, thus rendering the entire reason for the Snyderverse pointless.
Hear, hear.
shareThey're ignoring that Affleck didn't want to be Batman anymore after the JL reshoots, how BVS was received, his divorce and rehab, he was advised he would drink himself to death if he did a solo film.
shareReally i didn't realize he was in that bad of shape.
shareI really don't think someone drinks themself to death over acting in a batman film. There is not a lot going on in his head, the guys going back out with Jlo after she's screwed everyone in Hollywood.
shareThe mob has too much control. Examples of it everywhere and this movie is one of them. These people complained and complained until a major studio caved and gave them what they wanted.
shareI'm not sure this version would've been a hit in theatres back in 2017, who would wanna watch a hour superhero movie in cinemas unless it's Infinity War Or End Game which are three hours.
Seems to worked out better on streaming and home release, it's like watching a whole TV show all day.
