It’s fine to have an opinion, and mine is that he’s better in a team.
Bad writing is what killed Batman Forever and Batman & Robin. Good writing like in the cartoons or Arkham games show that Robin can work in a serious setting.
We have plenty of movies with Batman as a solo act, it’s time to bring Robin in. All the Robins have been popular to some degree, with the first Robin becoming the even more popular Nightwing. It’s time he got to shine in a good movie.
Batman’s cool, but he’s better when he has a foil to bounce off of. On his own he can be kinda boring.
Have you seen the show Yellowjackets?
We already had a whole trilogy without Robin. He was then teased in the Snyderverse and nothing came of that. It’s time they bring Robin into the movies again, preferably without race-washing or bi-washing him.
Shortly before their fight, Amleth was stabbed multiple times in the back by his half-brother, and since then he was bleeding out. His uncle Fjolnir wouldn't have been able to get as many hits as he did, let alone stab Amleth, if it weren't for that. We've seen how capable of a fighter Amleth was throughout the movie, he was among the best.
Also, Fjolnir had other guys fight his nephew and his brother, in both cases he didn't dare fight them alone. Not long after Fjolnir took over the kingdom, he fled like a coward when someone else came along, while his brother and nephew both stood their ground against overwhelming odds.
I actually enjoyed Defenders, and it’s a shame a lot of people didnt. I was almost as awed with it as when the first Avengers came out. However, both seasons of Punisher were quite bad in my opinion, which is also a shame since he was the highlight of Daredevil season 2.
With that said, I more-or-less agree with your thoughts on the Disney+ shows. I enjoyed WandaVision aside from the end, while the other shows had parts that worked but were otherwise mediocre. They all feel the same when the truth is the heroes in them are diverse and different. It’s possible to show that while still keeping them all connected. It’s one thing if Spider-Man and Antman are funny, but if all of them are funny then what’s the point? What’s the difference between them and why is it cool when they finally meet up?
If anyone is gonna wear the blue and grey suit, it should be Dick Grayson when he was Batman. Blue is more his thing anyway, where as Bruce looks better in black and grey, or all black.
I no longer think Marveltards will watch “anything” these days.
Black Widow, Shang Chi, and Eternals all underperformed; and if the reports are to be believed, the average viewership for the Disney+ shows is nothing to brag about.
Fans might flock en masse on opening weekend for Chris Hemsworth and Chris Pratt, but if word of mouth is bad, expect it to drop sharply next weekend and not reach even close to $1 billion by the end of its theatrical run.
Part of me also wished the vampire in Midnight Mass was more developed, but then as you said with Barlow, sometimes less is more. It depends on my mood I guess.
And I felt that Hamish Linklater as the priest added as much depth as James Mason’s character did.
In addition to Shiki, I also recommend you watch the Midnight Mass miniseries on Netflix. Very similar story, and a perfect substitute if this remake turns out to suck.
I’ve been meaning to watch shiki for a while. Now that that you said it’s similar to Salem’s Lot, I’ll definitely give it a watch.
The only reason I watched this and Stealth were because of her. It’s always sad to see hotties hit the wall, but thankfully her bod was immortalized in movies like these.
They really are, you’d be surprised how many people actually think that way 😅
While those points were worth mentioning, I still didn’t think Dune was that woke overall. It felt more like they genuinely tried to make a good movie while being forced to obligate certain quotas.
I also didn’t think FF9 was that woke either. It had a diverse cast, but that alone isn’t woke. Same with Godzilla vs Kong.
Um… no? 😄 it’s just a big lizard fighting a big gorilla, nothing more and nothing less. That’s pure dumb entertainment right there.
Well, obviously not every month, since one of them is all about blacks, and another is all about LGBTs.
As for the other months, I don’t recall a single one of them ever being spent on celebrating white people in any capacity, in fact it’s the opposite: when we’re not celebrating “‘marginalized” groups, we’re hating on whites.
In the spirit of equality, having a White History Month seems fair.
lol if this isn't sarcasm, then what a bad take it was 😄
There's nothing woke about Jackson's LOTR trilogy. Sam's straight, he married a woman and had kids with her. No gays in these movies or the books.
Good movies usually get good reviews, and bad movies usually get bad reviews.
Both Venom movies and Morbius were bad, so were Black Widow and Eternals. Spider-Man No Way Home was a good movie.
I noticed that too. These days you’d expect at least one black viking, but thankfully not in this movie.
Definitely gonna watch it, I hope it’s actually good too.
Gotta agree about Day After Tomorrow. The opening is one of my favorite parts of the movie.
