Really? Have you watched these fixed films? There's no director. It's like home movies, filmed from a fixed car ride for ten minutes. Probably with the top tech available to them at the time. You are looking for cinematic depth in these? If anything the fixed version is probably closer to what they wished they could show. Either way the original still exists, not like it is going away, so nothing has been ruined I've written the MPA suggesting they add a woke rating to movies along side the parental motion picture ratings. W1 to W10. 1 being nothing and 10 being unbridled wokeness interfering with plot viewing pleasure. Still waiting for a reply I'm only guessing one reason is there are now 50 billion new things to watch with endless variety. You will never get through all the great new stuff let alone bother watching some old thing that looks so bad compared to newer. In the past, we actually saw all the movies we could and needed more so we looked to older films I'm okay with these. Yes, you can always still watch it the way it was filmed: with horrible shake jittery flashing contrast skips and bad focus. And now you may also watch it cleaned up to SEE what was filmed even better. Good stuff. i gotta admit, they were fairly funny to me as a kid, now watching most of them again - after many repeat views - as an adult, most of it doesn't work for me anymore. I can see, and understand, how it did when my humor knowledge was basic, and zany things caught me off guard, but with age and wisdom I seek more DEPTH in comedy now. and mel brookes, and even my beloved Zucker stuff just brings a nostalgic smile, but almost no laughs. hahaha good one very true, but the world didn't come to a skreeching halt like everyone assumed then. some were hurt, some went under, like businesses do all the time. meh.... I've heard read "recession is coming" every year for the past 20 years now it's only ever about how good the story is. story and plot are about it's motion forward. if we get to hear that batman wasn't breastfeed as a child, that dam well better be affecting the story/plot in some motional way, otherwise it serves zero purpose. you can develop character while the plot pushes on, not going to point out all the great movies that do this already, there are too many. my attention span is great. i'm old, I can watch new short ASL films, and well as old classics that are slow and drag on by today's standards.... IF the story is good. If you notice how long a film is, they should have edited it down to the 2 hour mark, and left their ego in the car. It kind of looks like hive mind bullying to me. I thought bullying was canceled? :) Apparently it is needed for more "substance". Not sure why when many other great stories are displayed in two hours or less. Why not make them 4 to 8 hours then? I mean why not, right? More "substance"... or filler? Rather not have a simple movie take up a fifth of my day agreed, but that doesn't sound helpful, healthy, or progressive for anyone. :) was hoping to hear from some cancellers as to why they know it is helpful to society, and not a hurtful waste. Cripes, people way overthink movies way too much now. Any one miss the days of the two hour movies? Plot was tighter Action was better Didn't waste time on boring dramatic soap opera back story... I feel everyone's assessment is fair to themselves whatever that may be, but you cant tell me it is not sci-fi to me. its only the sci-fi action that attracted me to it originally. the force or whatever magic is just sci-fi we dont understand (midiclorians???? hahahaha) or sci-fi that respects a religion also, but still 100% sci-fi. it's the FI part: FICTION, meaning the science doesn't have to be real --- it can be fictional science... thus that name ;) rofl! ok, but why? if they haven't broken any laws, and they say they dislike people wearing green or something, why do we get to cancel them for disagreeing? and I was talking about a not famous person. maybe a closer example for me here is that harry potter writer saying women are women or whatever... she didn't break any laws, just gave her perspective that upset a bunch of people? why did it upset them to want to crush her? that is their problem being upset, not hers. weinstein broke laws, though - at least it got to the level of him in court and prison etc, so, yes, cancel away.... but the amazon couple didn't break any laws - now, I don't know their outcome as it was just an example, but seems like a perfect example: offended someone, and probably lost his job because of the shame, not laws broken. wrong think: who gets to decide the parameters of wrong think? Maybe I think doing it in an amazon van is just fine, and someone else thinks they should get the death penalty.... who's morality gets to be the correct one? This is what is wrong with modern viewers
