Collins would indeed have been a great Bond. Sort of a mixture of Pierce Brosnan's smoothness and Daniel Craig's roughness. I was a huge fan of The Professionals back in the day. In fact I've still got the series hardbacked annuals I had as a kid. I enjoyed Collins' movie Who Dares Wins, too. Shame things didn't work out for him. He wasn't the greatest actor in the world, but he had presence and a winning persona, and was great at the rough stuff (I remember he used to do most of it himself). RIP 37. So, so hot. Funny, of the Annabelle films this was my favourite. Not a patch on The Conjuring of course, but I liked the variety of entities in this. I Dream of Jeannie. Definitely (although I enjoyed both). That was very sad. Mary Ann was one of my earliest crushes. Yes, likewise. And Lynda Carter's picture seemed to be everywhere (much like Pamela Anderson in the mid 90s). I made sure I never missed an episode. That's an interesting comparison.
Entertainment has always been filled with absolute studs when it comes to reliable second banana characters that vastly improve everything they're in. Burgess Meredith fits that description to a T. He was as solid and reliable as any character actor in TVs or films. I like his over the top take on Penguin. I mean, this is a silly campy show and Meredith plays this straight at the same time being just campy enough to fit in the show. Perfectly done.
I read in a magazine article recently that he loved doing the show. Whenever he was coming to town he'd let them know in advance, to say he was available if they wanted him. He was hugely popular with both cast and crew. Hi! Thank you! It's fantastic (I happily own the entire box set). Julie Newmar's #1 for me. Although I did love Lee Meriwether, a close second. Live action: 1. Julie Newmar 2. Lee Meriwether 3. Michelle Pfeiffer 4. Anne Hathaway/Eartha Kitt 5. Halle Berry Not a genre I've ever got into. Maybe I should give them another try! She did look a bit different. Certainly heavier. She was still just as cool though. I don't know why the character isn't more widely known as a horror icon. For me she's up there with Freddie, Jason etc. I guess compared to them she hasn't had as many movies.
-The whole convenience store scene -All the different legends of the house -The dance sequence with that "Computer Date" song -The lesbian kiss (back before that kind of thing was a trend) -The lipstick scene
All of the above. Plus Hull House funeral parlour was a great setting. Ditto! My pleasure - good luck! A couple that are debatable (for different reasons): Hard Candy (2005) The Woman in Black (2012)
The Swimmer (1968) starring Burt Lancaster. A man decides to swim across his town using everyone's swimming pool. (Drama) A most unusual movie, I recommend it highly.
I second the recommendation. Great movie.
Here's a crossover comic I'd like to see, The Shining and Ghostbusters. If they existed in the world of the movie the heads of the Overlook hotel would just hire the Ghostbusters.
Man, I would pay good money for that!
