Usually, you don't see victims refuse to press charges, but like I said earlier, the guy was either drunk or high. I also noticed the female deputy yelled at him when he put the hands off the cruiser and the third deputy yelled at him for not putting his feet in right away. Perez did indeed seem frustrated that the victim didn't cooperate fully and that the only charge was minor. If the suspect complied, he could have easily been released, and a warrant could have been issued later. Yeah. Both Perez and Feeny both treated the situation horribly. I remember Perez arrogantly asking him, "You want to be treated like this?". The guy seemed drunk or high out of his mind. He seemed like he didn't know what was happening. I personally thought Feeny was ruder, although they were both almost as equally. Even the victim seemed to think the guy wasn't right at all. If he didn't panic he probably would have easily been on his way. I know he didn't have a license and was also intoxicated. I know the suspect said he was scared of going to jail and that's why he was panicking so much. Officer Hardesty would probably be arrogant throughout and likely yell at the suspect. I don't understand why that man was so panicky. He definitely was one of the strangest suspects ever. He really is very cool and calm in many situations. I did notice he told the man "When we say show us your hands, you do it". I always liked Kolp and felt bad that he was a defendant in a lawsuit. I actually don't blame the man for suing but the officers probably thought it was suspicious that he was almost passed out in a yard. Some of the more controversial police shootings/killings were for suspects "resembling" other suspects. One of the Pierce County segments from season 17 actually involved the wrong suspect suing. The guy was in a drunken stupor outside in a dark area and was very confused. That's when the other deputies tased him and had a k9 bite. They later go into another house and arrest a 2nd suspect. The victims stated the 2nd suspect was the main suspect. 1959 probably was right year-wise. I know many people complain about potentially the wrong suspect getting arrested or worse. At least the officer let you go very quick. I kind of figured the date of birth she gave to Pierce was false as she looked quite a few years older. I was wondering too if the car was stolen or not. My older brother has had similar things happen to him with neighborhood kids and was even thrown in the back of a police car. He was extremely scared. Was your brother back in the patrol car? We've talked here before about how Lower stole money for softball equipment and how it was disgraceful. I will agree that her lying didn't help her at all. I agree Pierce would've been more lenient if she was honest upfront. I think he appeared in the segment where he pulls over a vehicle and a woman who claims she was raped by a male suspect, who eventually was arrested. Lower was indeed fired years later for stealing money. Frentess could have handled himself much better in that segment in my opinion. That sounds horrible how the police treated your brother like that. I bet he was very emotional even after the encounter was over. I liked Kenneth for the most part, but I thought the one woman who was breaking down crying begging not to go to jail I thought he was slightly nonchalant about it. I don't think I liked Lower in any of his season 16 segment. Maybe as he got older he became more of a jerk. Both of Frentess's suspects were cooperative or semi-cooperative and respective. He didn't need to treat them that way. I also noticed he was really rude when the driver later admitted to driving while intoxicated. I personally didn't notice anything wrong with Guillen in the segment you mentioned. He also appeared in a segment about a stolen lawn mower and was cool in that too. I liked Wilby too and also wish he appeared in more episodes. I liked his sense of humor and Jamaican accent. Speaking of Fort Worth, I found out Kenneth Pierce got fired for inappropriately firing his taser at a suspect a few years ago. He later was reinstated. Lower was tolerable in the season 11 episodes, but he became a total jerk by season 16. Frentess totally overreacted. When he initially stopped the car, he was not friendly nor rude but he became more of a jerk when the driver told him to calm down. Ditto with the passenger. I remember him telling them both "You're just being put into handcuffs and I'll tell if you're being arrested". I never understood why Guillen was so bad. Fort Worth had some of the best segments ever of COPS. Seasons 12, 14, and 17 were all good. I loved Shawn Boorman and liked his calmness and sense of humor. The one officer I wish was in more episodes was Jim Grow. I liked how calm he was dealing with the 2 dealers that tried to run him over at the apartment, as well the one female suspect he had to fight with as she tried to flee. He seemed to be very calm and had a nice sense of humor. Agree about everything. Any officer who gets mean to a suspect (which there have been a few) makes any segment hard to watch. (Joe Frentess, Jeff Lower, John Mathis, etc.) The whole "I'd be rich if I could make money off of all the lies" is very condescending to say. I don't think officers should say suspects are lying as they could have indeed have a valid point of view. Not just Hardesty, I actually sympathized with the two men that Joe Frentess stopped. Even my dad thought that him handcuffing the passenger was totally illegal. Ditto with the woman who had the warrant whom Boise Officer John Mathis yelled at for daring to pull away while handcuffed, and for being very arrogant about the drugs she claimed were "planted" by him.
