Could also mean it was because of the wings on the package that gave him the idea for the port-a-potty "sail" and painting them on it. If it wasn't for that sail, he would have never made it off of the island on that raft.
If you pay attention thru-out the movie, the clues are there that he is meant to be with Bettina at the end. The Elvis music is a pretty big clue.
My fantasy ending for this movie is that he gets in his car and follows Bettina in her pick-up truck back to her place and they end up together. They eventually marry. Then while on their honeymoon, they are walking along a beach somewhere when all of the sudden a wave rolls over Chucks feet and there is Wilson, who washes up ashore...because you never know what the tide will bring...
He played Percy the little a-hole prison guard in The Green Mile.
He reminded me of the Crypt Keeper with his long stringy hair around that bald patch on top! LOL!
This was actually a really good movie from start to finish! I bought this as a "blind buy" from the $5 DVD bin at Wal-Mart and decided to take a chance on it. I'm glad I did! I was amazed as to how well it was made. Everything looked pretty authentic and the violence is pretty brutal in a few scenes. This movie kept me riveted from start to finish. Highly recommended!!
Right there with you lost_dream...I'm now the old woman who is still yet to find that true and lasting love...

Probably back to South Dakota again to work the campgrounds and other jobs. I'm pretty sure she does the same route over and over every year. Amazon to Arizona to South Dakota and back again.
One was of Elizabeth that she did a selfie of to put in with the letter to her birth mother. The other was of the guy who got Karen pregnant with Elizabeth (David Morse's character). It was a school picture of him. Apparently they were school sweethearts at the time when they were 14 when she got pregnant.
The George Jones song "Talk to Me Lonesome Heart" that was playing during the BBQ scene, was from 1967. The movie takes place in 1961.
She married musician Danny Elfman in 2003 and decided to be a mother and housewife instead...
"An All American Girl" by Melissa Etheridge
I think she stayed at her cabin. She was happy there once she was able to fend for herself.
I loved this movie! It started out a little slow, but as it went a long it got better. Loved the ending when she visited her friend and what they said to each other...very moving. Had to grab a kleenex for that part!
She died on May 8, 2021...
But Eric Roberts got the shaft in this movie when the woman he loved dumped him...
I thought she was good in The Professional with Leon...
Sher had a work at home telemarketing job. I read the book.
Well, for one, Ethan cheated on Uma with the nanny - who he ended up marrying after he was divorced.
