I mever, throughout the entire run of the series, thought the family would lose the estate.mFrankly, that was never a story that Fellowes was willing to tell.
Besides, if they had lost the estate then we couldn’t have had the two films.
It’s just a show
And here we are.
That episode is one of my favorites. The conversation about Sybil was so poignant; we needed to bring Sybil back into the series a little bit before it ended.
Lady Shackleton’s dil is another one of those details that Fellowes is famous for. He seasons his scripts with little details like this that make watching the series so delightful. Some ofmhis writing quirks drive me crazy, but his addition of fun details is fantastic.
Imo he does. He and Anna had already been through so much at that point. He knew killing Green would make everything worse for Anna.
He walked around York because he was beside himself with grief and sadness for what Anna had endured and was still enduring.
I liked all the wedding gowns, but I think Rose’s was my favorite. 🙂
You are.
Crikey, the bitches in this thread don’t care about the collateral damage left in Mary’s wake. Mary hurt Bertie, for chrissakes. She blabbed in front of everyone and humiliated him (well, everyone except her beloved Carson, because she slyly waited until he excited the room before casting her venom, so he would continue thinking she is perfect).
Mary also hurt Marigold, a young, innocent child who deserved to have a wonderful stepfather and happy and fulfilled mother.
Mary made it crystal clear what her motivations were when she told Anna about the death of the Marquess, saying that it wasn’t only her love affair that would fall apart but Edith’s, too.
And the squinty, cunty look on Mary’s face immediately before she asked Bertie at dinner if he had come to settle things with Edith. God, she’s rotten.
Yes, I already knew about that before I posted. It only reinforced my opinion that it shouldn’t have been set in Montana.
That single maple operation in Montana taps barely 200 trees. Hence the reason the film should be set in New England. It’s very tiny and far removed from the business that is portrayed in this film.
A lot of the time, the supporting actors who are “one step down in looks” are much better actors than the leads. Example: Juliet Stephenson in Being Julia. So much better than Annette Benning.
The phrase “as you wish” existed long before The Princess Bride.

Similar to Twister with Helen Hunt.
Sounds awful. It sounds like they’re going ti write in Swayze/Johnny’s death.
I would rather keep my fantasy of them growing old together.
You mean like Lisa, not penny
Penny was a former Rockette. Something for Robbie to brag about to his frat buddies.
I think Penny was taken in by his good guy act. She thought he was interested in her — not just for sex. He probably played the long game and won her trust.
Yeah, that made it seem like jr high
I guess you haven’t seen her as Lady Chatterley.
