Typical Hallmark Channel Chick Flick

It was nice to see Jill Wagner in something other than a supernatural and/or horror type of role. She was as good as could be with the contrived plot of this story. Just an average movie with some hard to believe back story of why they never reconnected before the time of the story.

Jill was believable as a country girl like her real roots, but a stretch as a farmer for me. But I have seen most of her other work so I am biased and wonder what someone would think who never saw her acting before?

I hope this leads to more acting roles for Jill in the future.

It is telling for a chick flick that the best looking people are the lead characters and the supporting cast are one step down in looks.

What I don't get is why they wanted to elope? Just get engaged and let Ben get established in NY and Annie go to college. Then when they are a little older, get married then. Why not let Annie's parents know they were a couple?

Didn't Ben have any family back in Iowa where he could get info on how Annie was doing and get messages to her or at least get her e-mail address? This was the year 2000, not 1990 or earlier.

Just too many unexplained things to make the plot believable to me.

A lot of the time, the supporting actors who are “one step down in looks” are much better actors than the leads. Example: Juliet Stephenson in Being Julia. So much better than Annette Benning.
