the lady

Did anybody like her? Damn she played bad...She was the worst...even the little girl played excellent compared to her.And she didn't even make a good pair with Gary...Yuck! I think the movie would have been better with another actress.

'I thought Joely Richardson was a plank of wood compared with everyone else'

exactly...

Joely's acting is not as good as Gary Sinise but, the romantic scenes, so passionate........

"I'm not o *beep* k!"

That's thanks to Gary cause she's not at all good at it...actually, I even thought I could see disgust in Gary's eyes when they were on the sofa talking about her shiny shoes...

I found the scenes rather awkward between Joely and Gary. He managed to play it as uncertain and tentative, which was accurate considering his character had, by his own admission, following his father's example and shutting himself behind a wall and not letting anyone in. But she just seemed nervous and edgy around him, without much explanation beyond the fact that her ex-fiance had apparently broken up with her when she wanted to adopt Olivia.

I found Gary's scenes with Jordy Benattar (Olivia) more genuine and touching, his character's affection for the little girl really shone through. I was surprised that there was no greeting shown between the two of them when he returned to Maine at the end, they just showed Terry and Katherine hugging while Olivia was busy skating with her grandfather.

I totally agree...and that scene when Olivia gets to know Terry by touching and.. feeling his face will never get out of my mind...

I guess you haven’t seen her as Lady Chatterley.

She was kind of bland, but okay for what it was. I generally like anything Gary is in regardless. The plot points with her father I found very strange and made little sense, but that's another topic.
