In the scene where Michael lights Enzo's cigarette after saving his father at the hospital, Michael's facial expression changes after looking at Enzo's lighter for some reason. What happened here?

Enzo is a baker and had dirty finger nails...

Because while Enzo the baker’s hands are trembling too much to light his smoke, Mike’s hand stays steady. Mike notices how he’s calm in the situation while Enzo is nervous as heck. I feel like it’s a turning-point for Michael.

I've always wondered why he did that. It still doesn't make any sense to me.
