I agree. It’s definitely cringe worthy at parts but it was entertaining. Try sitting thru in a theater with your family. Not a pleasant experience but we were glad we saw it I guess. That way we knew how bad it was. Lol alright I hear ya. Very nice! Thanks, your name is too cool as well. Interesting. Yeah I was almost rooting for Doyle’s redemption. Like, maybe Carl will help Doyle see the error of his ways. But nah. Important part of the movie. That, along with the part afterwards where that same priest advises the mother to keep the necklace of the saint, which belonged to Father Karras. I think both of these parts help cement the resolution that even though the priests died, they and God defeated the demon. Do you like Borat I guess? See I realize how great everyone thought it was, but I didn’t care for it too much. Just didn’t like that annoying character a whole lot, but it was pretty funny overall. My point is, I wouldn’t go around criticizing Borat because I realize it had great qualities that made it popular. It just wasn’t my cup of tea. MIB is legendary no doubt. As is Titanic. Also as is Home Alone 3. Vaughn says about Doyle, “He’s a dangerous man, I can tell. I’m in tune. I may be psychic, idk.” Later, “Carl, you always seem to be deep in thought. Tell me, what are you thinking?” “I was thinking about taking some of these taters home with me.” You’re crazy. Men in Black is the worst movie of the 90s, no question. “What’s my destiny, mama?” The desperate yearning Hanks evokes is awesome. Gimme Some Truth. Wasn’t Murphy later caught with a tranny in the 90s? From what I hear, Hollywood types are into anything and everything. As far as the scene you’re talking about, I think it’s fair that they know how much they really mean to each other as friends, and the line and looks they exchange say it all without making it mushy or gay. Ohhh man I never heard that. Yeah that could’ve been an issue. It certainly could’ve been better made, with maybe not as much cheese and corniness, with the scenes with JTT’s falcon and moose. Then again, I think it works really well as a kids movie. When I was in grade school, this movie was so badass. I watched it again after I was grown, and yeah I recognized a lot of faults. I guess the budget was for the animals and it’s too bad it didn’t do well, but it was a badass kids movie. What in the Sam Hill are you talkin bout? That’s about as crazy-sounding as this one theory I heard, that he was under mind control, MK ULTRA stuff, and he hightailed it after it drove him a little crazy. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=F1HJ5Tz8s_0 Maybe his wife left him and took the kids, and he wouldn’t resolve his problems any other way. There are some nice contrasts between Cal and Jack. While Cal kills himself because he lost his wealth, Jack sacrifices himself to save another human being. I don’t know if he “genuinely cared” for their well-being. He certainly was determined to do his job, that job being that the students learn the material. While he did want to see them do well, he didn’t seem too interested in their personal lives. Except for the fact that he did allow Spicoli to go to prom. That was pretty cool and personal. I’m sure his thinking was, “This kid is a burn out and a waste of my time 95% of the time. Better just make some progress, cut my losses, and wish him well.” Well I don’t know who “we” is. I don’t recall making any decisions on what “we need”. I just prefer Clueless over Mean Girls because its tone is more optimistic and happy-go-lucky. It’s not as “mean”-spirited as MG. As far as the characters being spoiled brats, I recall that all characters have good and bad characteristics.
