This scene is why this is best picture

Forrest Gump is a magical movie. It moves between comedy and real human emotions of saddness masterfully.

The scene of his mother dying is perfectly written and acted, and scored.

It doesn't matter how many times I see this scene it always brings a tear to my eye.

I somewhat agree. Although I can understand some people wanting Shawshank or Pulp Fiction to win best picture or some of the other Oscars. Frankly I think Morgan Freeman probably should have won for Shawshank over Tom Hanks in this. But that's just me. Not that Tom didn't do a good job but I kind of liked Morgan Freeman's character a bit more.

Morgan plays Morgan. Same sweet voice. Hanks did something out of everyone’s wildest dreams with this performance.

You lost all creditability when you said Morgan Freeman was a bad actor. Suck a bag of rocks!

“What’s my destiny, mama?” The desperate yearning Hanks evokes is awesome.
