I really like both films. I love Halloween II and have been a big fan for a long time. However, I saw 2018 and really liked it too, and much better than H20! Now the issue is that I don't know how to marathon these...! I sorta choose to believe that II happened and the conversation about Laurie not being his sister is just misinformation.
Hey All, for those who saw Halloween this weekend, did anyone notice the two, yes TWO, references to our friend Harold and his wife???
I agree, I really think that he did have something big to do with the escape, but it isn't really alluded to until later.
I think MM without mask was fine, but I agree about it being a bit longer!
Black kid was great!
But where I totally agree with you was the new doc. Didn't kill the movie for me, but was totally unnecessary save one thing (which I won't spoil). Still, with how the franchise has handled the one positive in the past, it could have been done much better and more simply!
I personally thought it was worth it, and it is not pure hype, but to each their own, really. I rarely go to the theaters, so for me this was special and I don't regret it. But, others do.
I would recommend it, and not just for the movie, but also to support this film so others like it get made!
Halloween 78
Halloween 2 81
Halloween III
Halloween 2018 (this is subject to change, but likely only to go up)
Halloween 4
Halloween H20
Halloween 5
RZ H2
RZH1
Curse of MM
Resurrection
Note that I like all of them except Res, and even that one isn't awful (from the point of a horror film), and I have trouble sitting through RZ's films sometimes because the pacing, especially of 1, is all over the place, but I still have reasons to like them all.
Hardest working janitor in Haddonfield!
While this one is not my favorite, I have always liked it. It still felt like a horror film and less like a comedy. Mark Patton was ok, but his performance was a bit odd to me. I think it was direction though, not him. But despite the odd gay tones, which I mostly smile at lightly now, I still think it had enough atmosphere to work for me.
Sorry, I can't get on board with that. I actually don't really like many of the sequels and I feel like this may be the most inconsistent of the big 3 slasher franchises! This one is definitely the best and most intense of them all, though it does lack the humor (Freddy wasn't supposed to be a joke in the beginning). This is easily the strongest of the series (though I do like Dream Warriors quite a bit)!
I totally get the complaint! I've been taking krav maga for 4.5 years and while I'm not that big of a dude, still decent size and I know what I'm doing at this point with self defense. I see openings in movies all time time for krav moves that would save many characters' lives... I love slasher films, but yes, it would almost be more interesting if some character not named Busta Rhymes would be trained in something!
Director's cut all the way! It may just be because I'm more used to it, but i feel like the theatrical cut, which I've seen bits of on TV since seeing the director's cut, is incomplete. I love having the more fleshed out story, though it also does feel a bit long. Wonderful film!
I can't agree with that, but I think it is highly underrated!
Agreed, I am super excited but also haven't heard anything new! I'm hoping that this is still being made, but have not heard anything about it being cancelled...
They can modify the opening theme and play a slower version after he explodes, "and it all ended with a big baaaang."
Yes, but I watch them in the order 3, 1, 2. I watch the others throughout October, but on the 31st, it is those three.
I'll still watch all of the movies (except resurrection, the only one I don't have) regardless of how this movie turns out. I'm just hoping to enjoy the film regardless of timeline.
Actually, honestly, the more I watch RZ's H2, the more I like it better than this one! And that surprised the hell out of me when I realized it!
I refuse to do that!!! Must see all of it!
Nice! Sounds like a great deal. I am married, so harder to sneak off to a movie and while we definitely have overlap in our tastes in film, we also deviate quite a bit. Plus, frankly, even though I'm in denial that I am approaching middle age, my bladder has been tiny since I was tiny... sitting through a film in theater can get to be a bit rough!
I wish I could go more, but it costs plenty, gotta work every day, and just don't always have time to get there. Plus, only special films get the theater treatment for me!
