The time between conviction and sentencing will vary depending on the offense and the docket backlog of the jurisdiction.
I assume house arrest was ordered because he is very wealthy and is probably considered a flight risk for that reason.
In most jurisdictions, a pre-sentencing report must be prepared first. Five months is not unusual.

I know you were being sarcastic, but I thought the scene where his character was walking through Robert Porter's home and imagining the crime scene was very moving. He thought he finally had an answer for Prot's psychosis, and it was heartbreaking.

I'm following the series but I literally can't stomach watching the screen for 45 minutes. The camerawork makes me nauseous. All those little "quick zooms" are ridiculously annoying and distracting. So I put it on and browse the internet on my ipad while listening and occasionally watching.

He ran as an independent. He could have been 6’5” and he still would have lost by a wide margin because he wasn’t the nominee of either of the two major parties.
It's a very cynical move, trying to draw in the people who stayed home for Solo.
Most people only see the candidates on TV, so I don't think height would matter much unless the relative difference between the candidates was a lot. Gore is 6'1", W. is 5'11". Jeb is 6'4" and Trump is 6'1" (I've read that he is 6'3", but I think that is incorrect). Point being that, in both cases, one of the pair is taller but not by huge margin.
If a candidate was 5'7" (Fletch for President!!!) and were running against a 6'3" candidate, then I think voters would be influenced by it.
I thought he (Rhys Myers) did an exceptional job of portraying Henry VIII in The Tudors. Very talented fellow. I wish him and his family well.
Addiction is a horrible situation for all involved. At least society is getting better at recognizing it for the serious illness that it is and treatment options seem to be improving.
