I agree that Obama was unqualified but Trump had far less political experience than even Obama. Trump arguably had relevant leadership skills from his business and entertainment careers but, I think, it turned out that he was much better and more interested in campaigning than governing. Both men were able to surf the zeitgeist (desire for change) to victory. But Obama was able to hold on for a second term and Trump was not. Not a fan of Trump or Trumpism. > What is critical acclaim really worth? Poor Rob Schneider seems pretty hurt that he was or has not been admitted as a member of the Academy - other than ‘Police Academy’. 😂 I enjoyed him in Uncut Gems, 50 First Dates, Billy Madison, Wedding Singer and a handful of SNL skits - but almost nothing else. Yeah, I would’t be surprised if she has many regrets about her personal and professional life. But her time is past. She is thankfully receding from the public’s consciousness. Certainly among the most effective - and attractive - members in the Trump administration. But those are low bars. It will be interesting to see if she runs for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024. That could pit her against her old boss, one of his children and/or Mike Pence. Thanks for elaborating. To each his own. I think physical beauty and youth are correlated and only a minority of people look better later in life than they did in youth. While I think LL has retained her beauty to a remarkable degree as she has aged - and looks better than women in her own age cohort to a greater degree than she ever has - I don’t feel her beauty has improved with age. It surprises but does not shock me that someone would think she’s looking her best today. Toni but both are, as the kids say, smokeshows. Whoever cast this film had a good eye. She’s looked good in every stage of her life but never better, IMO, than in Secret Admirer. Uh, no. Not for any amount. I only saw this first season and enjoyed it. I didn’t even know that additional seasons or a movie existed until now. Sad to learn that they are no good. Guess the producers just wanted to cash in. He hasn’t aged well. Some of it is hair loss and weight gain. Swingers. I hardly recognized him the next time I saw him after that as he’d put on weight, lost some hair and aged in the face. Thanks. That’s some imagination. I did not find them the least bit funny which made we wonder how successful Jerry had been in his stand-up career prior to the series. I doubt they were intentionally bad. I imagine they were phased out because either Jerry ran out of material from his routines or they got some audience feedback that showed audiences didn’t like his stand-up either. Never cared much for any of those comedy routines of Jerry’s which bookended many of the early episodes. > It's not just the fact that he wasn't having sex, but that he wasn't even thinking about it is what made him a genius. 👍🏻 I felt the same way about Teri Hatcher during the show Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. She lost a significant amount of weight between the second and third seasons and with it her voluptuousness and youthful glow. Great list However, I don’t think “docu-drama” is the right classification for DYRL as it details fictional events. I’d say DYRL is a condensed and stylized retelling of the events of the tv series. > Should I watch robotech? I've seen a trailer on youtube and it seems like robotech might be too "childish" compared to this movie? The quality of animation of the Macross tv series is not nearly as good as in DYRL but it’s still excellent by the standards of tv animation and it tells the story of DYRL over many dozens of hours. So, if you really liked DYRL, you’ll probably find a lot to like in the tv version. However, I would recommend you try to pick up Animeigo’s translation of the Macross tv series on DVD rather than Harmony Gold’s Robotech. It’s out of print now but you can still pick up a used boxed set on ebay.com. It’ll cost you a pretty penny but you can turn around and sell it on to another fan/collector for about as much as you paid for it. Even if you you (or anyone else reading) should decide to go with the Robotech option, I’d recommend they check out Animeigo’s excellent liner notes: https://archive.animeigo.com/liner/out-print/macross-tv-series.html.
