Jerry Goldsmith's score wins hands down, it's a shame he died. The CGI def felt like a step down from the first film along with the film as a whole, but this still remains a fairly strong sequel and certainly better than the trash that came after it. True but they're also different for the most part and feel fresh despite being tied back to the OT in the end. I liked Solo for what it was. Definitely not perfect but was better than the last two films in the sequel trilogy. Idk why this one got the strongest reviews of the Hobbit trilogy either, this was the WORST. They made you wait two fucking hours to see that Dragon with much of it feeling padded. They also got rid of the Hobbit music theme from Unexpected Journey which was frustrating. The first Hobbit was much better and should've gotten stronger reviews than this. They need to just cave in and put it on Disney plus, I rather pay the money to watch it there then wait another 6 months to a year to see it at this point. She'll always be granny from The Beverly Hillbillies movie to me, that's how I discovered her growing up. Lol I was just about to say that. Lol Put me down for McKinnon too. Halloween ll is better but this was a good attempt to take the series in a new direction after Halloween lll pissed everyone off. Halloween 5 ruined the ending of this movie though. Can't wait, the first one was pretty good. The Monopoly scene was funny as fuck, the sequel as a whole wasn't as good as the first one and ended up being just ok. Because it's done well to the point where it feels original and fresh again. They also get you emotionally invested in the characters. The sequel trilogy started off fine with Force Awakens but Last Jedi and Rise Of Skywalker ruined everything that film was setting up. I like the prequel but it's got nothing on Carpenters film which is a classic. If it plays at my local drive-in I'll go see it otherwise I'm watching it at home. It could've worked if they had a better director, MCG was the wrong guy to helm this film. Taking the story into the future wars finally was a great idea, the overall execution was a letdown. Directors cut, it took an already amazing sequel and further enhanced it. The first Mummy is def a cult classic now. The Mummy Returns is good too but that's where it ends for me story wise. I watched Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor once and never bothered to watch it again since then. It was just awful. There's a lot of things wrong with this movie but I agree with the OP that it feels weird they're never brought up or mentioned given their impact on the first film. Definitely better than the first one which was also funny. They were great together, this one's a classic. The sequel however, not so much. It's not better than Die Hard with a Vengeance but it is a pretty good sequel to the first film, and is also the last one to have the whole Christmas vibe to it. The first two movies I can only watch during December now.
