Perhaps... based on what we see Cal was chiefly if not solely responsible for his lifeboat and all of its passengers surviving. So yes, while Cal was looking out for himself first he and his actions are what possibly made the girls and others survival possible. ^^^^ This is a joke right? Ralph Macchio over Frank???! I disagree that Silberman was working with cyberdyne. There's nothing in the movie that even hints at his involvement. As for hearing the name cyberdyne, it was probably a legit company that was already founded in the early 80's before Reese's arrival. So they could just say Reese plucked any computer company name. The same as if somebody from the future came to our time and started raving about Apple or google taking over the world. As for the credibility he's taken from Sarah. He really wouldn't have to do anything. She was arrested for trying to blow up a factory. She was a free woman until this act. She was acting incredibility unstable on video in lockup and was clearly a danger to people around her. She attacked several workers and Silberman himself(She stabbed me with my pen a week ago). One of those encounters she held him as a hostage as under direct intention and threat of death. Honestly, Sarah probably was crazy after the events of the first movie even if she was right about the future. I mean I would have to say anybody who endured what Sarah did and having to be the only person in the world that knew its grim fate would be. At this point the only thing Cyberdyne is guilty of is possibly helping cover up finding the terminator remains. I personally would say the police and feds were more responsible for the cover up than Cyberdyne itself. Probably because he hadn't decided on all the details of her death and how it correlated with Anakin's Fall. He just knew he wanted to to happen while the children were very young and unable to remember any specific details about her or her at all. Also you have to keep in mind having a plan and making it work on a certain run time during a trilogy with 15 other characters and their arks are very different. It can probably be said she has character instead of ugly. She has unusual traits that make her stand out from the crowd. For example there are tons of pretty people but very very few if any of them are as captivating as Jack Nicholson. Jack was never an example of traditionally handsome but he has facial features and natural expressions that draw positive attention. Tom Hardy might be another example. He's seen as very attractive but it's his rare characteristics that set him apart from men that would be arguably more traditionally handsome such as Ryan Gosling, Prime Brad Pitt, or Chris Hemsworth. I also want to note that I find Milly extremely attractive. Her body alone puts her in the top 1% of modern western women. Along with that she has strong hair, straight white teeth, and a symmetrical face. I also find it very odd that people claim she's ugly when I would bet Dimes to Dollars that she wouldn't give a single person on the board the time of day if they approached her even if you took away her fame. Maybe. I think this movie would be better and more widely received if it's main character was more likeable. It's not a success on it's OWN! Encanto is only a modest success at best because of Disney's streaming service that they need content for. If Encanto were made by Sony or another studio that doesn't have it's own streaming service it would absolutely be viewed as a loss that could possibly break even after every penny is counted for the next decade. While Strange World would be near Waterworld flop. 180M theater release that grossed 75M world wide. Strange World Listed With Biggest Box Office Bombs. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_biggest_box-office_bombs Never said it was a flop. "All in all i would say disney views ENcato as a modest success. They would view Frozen as a big hit." Agreed! Temple of Doom is my fav as well. Probably because Lukas hadn't decided yet how Indy got his fear of snakes. He might have had other story ideas before he made the 3 indy movie. Ultimately, he decide to include the snake scene at the beginning of the 3rd instead. Which is causing this continuity issue. Sure. But the argument is whether strange world and encanto are financially successful. On their own no they're not. However, if disney's plan for them was to simply be added to their streaming library then possibly. They were not straight to streaming movies they were intended for the big screen and were given big screen budgets and marketing campaigns. Yeah, I was actually caught off guard with how bad this movie turned out. The script was lousy, I'm shocked this was the best they could do. I would say the cast got their copies of the script and knew it was garbo. Kinda. None of the cast seemed like they were taking it serious and also seemed like they didn't even want to be there. This strangely feels like one of the most forced sequels. How often does Disney release a new movie on Disney plus? Jurassic Park was number 1 on netflix last time it was steamed there and it's not even a new movie. Being in the top 10 on a streaming platform typically just means it was just added and is the only new material for subscribers to watch. It's not like Disney+ grew a million more subscribers because Strange World was added to it. And it's not like disney is making per view money on it like they would in the theater. There's no way to know how much it needs to make because there's so many varying budget amounts from separate sources. Best guess, since this was a back to back production for 2 and 3 similar to the hobbit movies they probably put it all under one budget and hence have a giant price tag that keeps getting tossed around. Keep this in mind... how much did amazon spend on TLOR show?? And it got $0 at the box office. HBO spent 250M for 4 or 5 years of rights to friends. Avatar is going to end up on disney+ and will also bring in 1.5-2B at the BO. No way anybody is losing money on this deal. Agreed! This is by far the best show I've seen in 2022. So why even attack the city? Why not just surround it? Why would they mass their entire army and march on the gates if all they had to do was stand guard outside and kill anybody who came out? I don't think there was ever suppose to be a loop. The "No fate but what we make for ourselves" line suggests the future is not set and everything they do in the present changes it. Hence the whole reason skynet is trying to change the present by sending terminators into the past. "Killing Dyson might actually prevent a war" Line from the T800. Pretty sure Kyle tells Sarah in his memorized messaged that the future is not set. That's why Sarah is arrested trying to blow up a computer factory. She believes she can stop judgement day by destroying skynet before it takes control of the military. So, yes the events in T1 changed the future so in the future they have T1000s that can be sent back to a time that skynet knows directly where John is as a child. At the end of T2 Sarah and John believe they might have stopped judgement day. They not only destroyed all the parts from the future but the entire building and files from Cyberdyne Systems Corporation. Miles Dyson who's a high level executive and head of the special programs department believes they have destroyed enough files to prevent anybody from following his work. Now, an argument can be made that it's a hell of a coincidence that the parts of the original t800 in T1 happen to fall into the hands of cyberdyne which is the company that originally develops skynet. However, how much of a stretch is it that when the police investigate the scene and find parts to a super advanced robot that gets turned over to the feds they wouldn't turn it over to the company that was already developing their experimental weapons? You would think if a siege was the game plan they would have brought ladders, catapults, or hell maybe a battering ram. Not sure how Achilles would have changed the outcome if had he been in the battle.
