Well stated, TA!
So you agree that this is underperforming?
Not worried as much as disappointed that the opening weekend number is this low.
I and many others were expecting an opening weekend of at least $115-120million.
Easily one of the best movies of the year.
Just curious...how many "life-changing" films have you seen?
@bill Brown
Those are good points but the holds may not amount to much as Justice League is opening in less than two weeks.
I guess I got caught up in the tracking results indicating this would open around $120-25 million and this $104 million seems disappointing.
Every studio runs promotional campaigns like that!
Why are you singling out Marvel?
You must be a troll. No one could seriously think that this will make even more than Civil War.
Still telling you that there is no way this makes a billion let alone the 1.2 billion like you are predicting.
It's a nice start. I can't wait to see how it does domestically this weekend!
Why is it ridiculous?
It's almost certain to rise quite a bit higher before it opens. WW and BvS both far exceeded their projections. Coming after Wonder Woman, this film is red hot.
Do you think it will be a bigger box office hit than the previous two films?
This is good news. I hope it has a successful opening!
Illumination and DreamWorks films are probably more your speed.
Well said, Delicious!
Well...the first four reviews are out on RT.
One bad review, one tepid/positive, and two glowing.
So fairly positive start.
Lol
If it sells. Not if it just sits on shelves like Cars 3 merch did this past summer.
They almost always overestimate Disney films. It's pretty obvious that they work against Disney's interests and underestimate Warner Bros. and Universal films so they look like runaway"overperformers"
