The studios get the greatest share of the gross domestically. WW kicked Spidey' s butt over here. And, once again, Spidey just barely outgrossed WW globally.
Box office pro is notorious for overprojecting almost every single Disney release so that all of their films look like "underperformed".
It's infuriating and unfair to Disney. They do the opposite to Warner Bros. and Universal films.
TR is not going to make a billion, let alone 1.2 billion.
Also, Homecoming barely edged out WW worldwide and got it's butt kicked by her domestically.
People said the same thing about Disney's Cars 3...the movie flopped and the merch sat on the shelves while people bought Universal/Illumination's Despicable Me 3 merch.
Merchandise sales have slowed to a crawl at best.
China is only 25% take for the studio and Star Wars is not very popular there.
I'm predicting that this may be one of the biggest box office disappointments in recent history. This may struggle to make as much as Rogue 1 and there is still one more installment.
"Most studios" didn't pay 4 BILLION dollars for whatever franchise they are pushing...lol.
The expectations for box office are so high and yet so many people have been turned off by The Force Awakens.
The opening weekend may be below 150 million. Yes...I'm serious...there is a huge problem here.
LOL...DC is totally HOT right now after Wonder Woman.
A second Thor sequel is not getting a lot of buzz.
P.S. I am personally much more excited for Ragnarok but I'm being realistic.
