I've a bad feeling about this...

Kind of a stale trailer...ticket pre sale was a fucking debacle, and too many whiny bitches already calling it an ESB rip off...as if 6of the 8 films didn't have some form of all terrain walker...

reply

But 6 of the 8 movies were Lucas movies, the last 2 are Disney movies. Why is Disney rebooting Star Wars?

reply

continuing...not rebooting. To reboot would be to erase the prequels and start over.

reply

Continuing, rebooting or rehashing. All I know is that TFA is quite similar to ANH. And I assume TLJ will be similar to ESB. I sure hope they don't visit a snow planet in this movie or its doomed.

Oh lando, what would we do without you!

I'll watch it anyway, because I need the scapism. I'll probably enjoy it.

And the fanboys will probably hate it, some of them are absoluitely determined to hate anything that comes from Disney or that stars a girl. Which is no way to live, fanboys, life is better if you get the maximum amount of enjoyment from harmless pleasures like movies.

reply

It'll be worth watching just to see Snoke's massive Star Destroyer in action, can't wait.

reply

This is the franchises last chance in my opinion. If this sucks at the same level as TFA and rogue one then I am done, the franchise is beyond repair for me

reply

So wait...with all the mad shit you talk of this franchise...you actually consider yourself a fan? Wow...just WOW!

reply

I am a Star Wars fan, episodes 3-6 are some of my favorite movies ever. 1 and 2 while not great are still very enjoyable. I have HATED what Disney has done to the franchise, they took my childhood and took a huge, smelly dump on it

reply

Fortunately my childhood survived the trauma of both prequels and the continuation of the series. I felt fortunate back in 99 to be seeing what I assumed was 16 years forgotten...and was elated to hear that Disney had acquired the property, insuring my favorite waste of time will out live me. Unlike many fans...I remember a time that Star Wars did not exist...I'd like not to return to those days! And don't feel bad...life long fandom is not for everyone...it can be a lot of work! For example...I've attended every opening day since I was six in '77 and it has only gotten more frustrating over the years...but to me it's worth it! The lights dim, that lucasfilm inc logo glimmers (I do miss the fan fair😡)and those ten words that are so much more than just a segue to intergalactic adventure appear... I can smell the popcorn and jujubes right now!
And it smells GOOD!

reply

Well said, Delicious!

reply

Why thank you!

reply

Well I'm glad you are able to relive your glory days of when the original trilogy came out. I personally wish the current movies were actually good.

reply

Oh my glory days are hopefully far in my future...and although you can't really relive anything...my memories are swell of my childhood...hell I got Star Wars, empire, and raiders all before I was ten...nothing that happens today could possibly taint those good times...at least for myself. But I am sorry that for you it is not the case...did you have a traumatic childhood?

reply

Not at all, I had a great childhood and I remember recreating the battles of the OT with my action figures as Star Wars was by far my favorite movie franchise. I unfortunately was not able to experience them in theaters as I was either not born or just a toddler. I thought the prequels were OK but even with their flaws they did add a lot of emotional weight to the O.T. so I am glad they exist. The franchise had ended on a high note until Disney got their hands on it and started ruining it. Soon there will be more bad Star Wars movies than good ones and the entire saga will become one big gay joke.

reply

Well I am sorry that your great childhood was ruined by the continuation of a movie franchise. I am however very encouraged by the fact that millions of first and second generation fans get the opportunity to see their very simple wishes fulfilled...Star Wars lives on...and may the force be with us all!

As I've said since 99...this might be a no franchise for old men type situation. My peers hated the prequels with reckless abandon...talk of raping their childhood flooded the Internet and water coolers...THE WOLRD WAS IN TUMULT!!! But an unusual thing occurred at the same time that was...encouraging? Kids liked it! Today when I talk to fans under twenty, they seem to not even realize that the prequels were considered trash at the time. Today I see the same...kids digging Starwars with the same passion I had at that age...that would have been lost...and that to me would be a shame...

reply

Where your argument falls apart is that today I now recognize the flaws that the prequels have that I didn't recognize when they first came out yet even with the obvious flaws they are still enjoyable, TFA and Rogue One are trash on pretty much every level. Why didn't Disney just re-release A New Hope instead of making The Force Awakens? We would have seen the same movie in the theater and it would have saved them a lot of money.

reply

You've got me all wrong friend...I never posed an argument to disintegrate...
I merely offered my condolences for the loss of your childhood and professed my love for Star Wars. Declarations of such can't fall apart,as they are not subjective. Let's say I don't like your mother...how would my dislike effect the love you would naturally feel? Obviously I would not...and for me do so would be
Immature, inconsiderate and just down right mean...I think you can tell I am not that person...for my ally is the Force...and a powerful ally it is!

reply

Oh don't worry about my childhood at all, yeah it kind of sucks to watch one of the most beloved franchises of all time turn into nothing but a montage of fan service and political correctness but I am now a grown adult and I can take it. And the force is strong with you, but you are not a Jedi yet.

reply

LOL...this is your version of taking it? You seem like you're about to have an aneurism...between this and full house...I worry about you...all this after Mickey himself pooped on your childhood(your words) it's a hard knock life kiddo😉 Take time to get yourself laid or something...you deserve it!!!

reply

Well see, your argument falls apart because I was born 5 days before A New Hope, grew up with Star Wars, recognized the flaws in the prequels at their time, being quite disappointed with TPM after seeing it at a midnight screening in 1999, but absolutely LOVED The Force Awakens (haven't actually watched Rogue One yet). I thought TFA was the second best behind Empire Strikes Back.

See what happens when you label any random post an "argument"?

Seriously, sheesh. At least you have some TFA-bashing allies for your crusade here.

reply

Yet you don't seem to recognize the numerous flaws, lazy writing, plot holes and story errors that TFA has, you are a blind fanboy.
