Debbie does Saskatoon!

reply

Nice to see that you included Z on your list godewey. An incredible movie.

As for films not yet mentioned, the following are some of mine ...
Forbidden Planet
Tess
Uncle Buck
The Dish
Run Silent, Run Deep
In Harm's Way
To Kill a Mockingbird
St. Vincent
Local Hero
An Unfinished Life
International House
Tillie and Gus
A Day at the Races
A Night at the Opera
and because Debbie Does Dallas has been included on these lists, I'm going add Behind the Green Door.

reply

Z was really amazing.
I saw that film and The Confession -1970 version about the same time.
Both left lasting impressions on me.

Can't go wrong with what's behind or in front of the green door!

reply

Thanks... There are a few I've heard of, but not have seen.

reply

Cinema Paradiso is favorite of this bunch.

Ordet is the most thought provoking.

The Ascent and Before the Rain may be the best.

reply

Jeremiah Johnson is a solid movie. Remake?

reply

Not a fan of remakes but interesting.
Starring Josh Brolin?

reply

I'm on the fence when it comes to remakes. If done properly with respect to the original go for it, but putting out a piece of crap can be an insult to the original i.e. Red Dawn. I'm looking forward to the Papillon remake which is hitting theaters is August

Josh Brolin could pull it off I think. He's a good actor with a good reputation.

reply

You could spice it up with some adult classics

Deep Throat (1972)
The Devil in Miss Jones (1973)
and if you want to get really classy
Caligula(1980)

reply

❤️️
That's quite a list! I've seen most of those movies too.
I'm a bit confused though. What was your question?
After compiling this list, did you forget to ask?

reply

I see a lot of great films on our list. Without going into a long list, I'll just give you a few of my favorites:

Some Like It Hot
It Happened One Night
His Girl Friday
The Godfather
Bagdad Cafe
St. Vincent
Inherit the Wind

reply

Loved St-Vincent too!!

reply

How do you know that you've seen over 4,000 movies? Have you been keeping score in a notebook or something?

😎

reply

IMDB ratings (and I haven't rated every movie I have seen, either)

reply

Okay then.
