BillySlater's Replies

I agree, I like owning the physical copy too, unfortunately in the country I live in, Blu-rays are hard to find. I always go out of my way to buy them in the US though. Same. Once you hear it you can´t un-hear it. I swear, I just laugh any time I hear a Wilhelm scream in a movie now. He posted contradictory things all the time to bait arguments and then wouldn´t even reply to them, I always thought he was just a troll with too much time on his hands. So you readily admit that this scene was put together to give gay people, "little victories". That is pretty much what I have said all along and you attacked me for it. 4. Does friendship love count? I thought them trying to sacrifice themselves for the other, showed "love" for the other. I dunno. I actually quite liked not having to see Mark Ruffalo´s douchebag face in the film. You just admitted the "girl power" scene was contrived. That lasted about 20 seconds, more miniscule than this scene. Why is it so hard to believe they are doing the same thing in this throw away scene? It did seem like BS but I gave the movie the benefit of the doubt because she is a cyborg. Her brain supposedly works like a network, so she picked up the other Nebula´s memories. Yet here you are whining and resorting to ad-hominem because someone disagrees with you. I don´t dislike gay people. Two people in my family are gay and I love them. This has nothing to do with my personal views about gay people. This is about Marvel pandering to identity politics. Can´t even continue a conversation without resorting to "alt-right" ad hominems. The negativity is you, my woke little friend... How are Marvel´s box office numbers even relevant to any of my comments or this thread for that matter? Talk about a non-sequitur. Subplots whether you like them or not are part of the story. Whether they are hetero or not is neither here nor there, if a marvel character was gay and had a romantic relationship, it would be acceptable. Kat´s sidekick thirsting after Thor was just a silly attempt at comedy. I personally don´t care for that type of humor so I wouldn´t have liked it regardless of said character´s sex/sexual preference. This was clearly just to tick off Disney´s checklist of making sure all the minorities were accounted for so as to not face any political backlash. Ok so you now know me now based on a few comments on this thread? And then you complain about whiny right-wing versions of SJWs, than proceed to act just as obnoxious and whiny...lol Groundhog Day. Aliens. Ed Wood. Very rewatchable movies. He posted an unhealthy amount on this board. Its probably for the good of his mental well-being. Then why reply to this thread? Because it comes off as disingenuous. Its not only a throwaway line but its a throwaway scene, it does nothing to advance the story and really should have been left on the cutting room floor but its very apparent why it was left in. Im not upset about it, but I can see why someone mentioned it in a post. Also, I feel like people are way overusing the word "triggered" when people take issue with something. Inclusion for the sake of inclusion especially a very minor character comes off as disingenuous, which it is. He said "the guy he was dating". It was clear the man was homosexual. The scene didn´t actually seem to have served any purpose except to say ,"look we have included a gay guy in the movie". It would have looked like an odd scene anyway, but making a minor character gay, made it obvious as to why they included it.
