What's to think about? You're pushing the same old fallacious arguments, confusing biology with society's attitudes and perceptions.
If you love the doctor as a man so much, why don't you marry him?
In spite of the promos, it was still a huge surprise to me
that Bill would be a cyberman by the end of the episode and that the guy who was helping her was Simm's master.
I don't think there has been a surprising appearance of
the Cybermen since Earthshock
There are humans capable of raising healthy families without conventions and prejudicial attitudes of gender and sexuality holding them back. At no point has the human concept of a "nuclear family" been established as a requisite for Timelords and their number.
What's "meaningless" is some people's perceptions and concerns with other people's attitudes toward sex and gender which have nothing to do with them. Those perceptions are often shallow and restricted to personal preference and prejudice. Plus they are utterly redundant since it's none of their business.
Anyway. I would have thought you and folk like you would have been pleased with the way the show pandered to you. What with Bill being "converted" and "fixed".
Watched it for the first time in over a year and found it utterly fascinating all over again. 9/10
Lewis Hamilton is desperate to assume that role. He has the bravery and probably the speed.
He overplays the bemusement and lack of comprehension over how the world could be so unfair that other people are capable of beating him though.
That was surprising. The two did not get along at all. I don't think Nelson got along with many people though so it could have been Piquet enjoying a chance to stick the boot in to Prost/Balestre or whoever.
But Nelson's ire at the absurdity of what happened does seem genuine enough. Calling it "a big f--- up!"
Yeah but it doesn't make any real effort to show how Ayrton put things into perspective when the competition was over. It's clear that Senna needed to think the world was against him (and against God) in order to perform at the top of his game, which was exceptional. But the acknowledgement of Prost's patronage ignored the fact that they were reconciled long before Senna died. Too little too late IMO.
It would not have undermined the narrative of his stunning emergence and dominance if they movie had provided the kind of perspective that is present in the supplementary interviews from others that were either cut down or cut completely out of the film
Superman didn't reverse the whole disaster. He reversed the total collapse of the damn and Lois's car being consumed in the aftershocks following the repair of the fault.
Still no news on the amount of casualties caused by fall out radiation from the missile blast though.
He said that he was shown the film at the time and that he only got about five minutes in, the eiffel tower scene, when he decided not to watch it further. He an Mank had a different idea for the opening and they decided to do their own thing so that was that as far as he was concerned.
Buckfast wine.
I promised.
Kubrick would make Nicholson do take after take until he got bored or exhausted in to just letting rip. And that would usually be the take Kubrick used.
I can't remember which year it was but I remember when it came out on VHS and a friend of mine got hold of it. There were rumours going round school that watching it was cursed would set your house of fire or something like what's in the movie if you watched it. And that it was banned. I think it was my friend's big brother that started the rumours.
Anyway. My friend put the tape on and we sat there waiting for something to happen. I can't remember enjoying what we saw of the movie, but I think we only got to see about 15 minutes before my friend's mother came home from the shops and we turned the tape off and scattered. Convinced we were doing something totally dangerous. We can't ahve been older than ten or eleven.
It was a bout three more years until I saw it properly on TV. Enjoyed it then half forgot it. Rediscovered it as an adult and now love it.
I hadn't seen any other Halloween movies at that time, so I never cared that it wasn't a Michael Myers movie. And still don't.
People that judge a film on what it isn't, and never claimed to be, need to get a grip of themselves.
Because in Alien they didn't want to be seen with overt equivalent of HAL. (except for the self-destruct countdown).
It would appear they are not concerned with that this time.
Murderers deserve nothing.
No they were all pieces necessary to solving the puzzle.
P-u-z-z-l-e g-a-m-e. Capisce?
Nice post. Glad you love this movie too.
But Bill didn't remember her mother. The Doctor induced Bill's perception of her mother.
I really enjoyed the past three episodes.
No backstory to the monks? They are clearly Mondasian.
I don't particularly like it when it requires a set piece bit of deception to let the killer incriminate themselves like that, in front of witnesses.
But this one is ok in the sense that it appears that Columbo is trying to frame DVD with the flipped photo and the killer can't but incriminate themselves or let the "injustice" stand.
