In this movie, race is not an issue and racism does not exist? How did Angela Bassett's family take her marriage to a white boy? There is usually a significant conflict, the black women usually feel like they are betraying their community and family by marrying a white. Angela Bassett is the step-mother of a white girl? The mother is a bit racist. I think she just tried to convince herself she was different, but she was a panderer like the others. I agree it could have gotten a stronger footing at some point. I had even forgotten what board I was in. Protecting what? lol It's just a hilarious concept someone not liking a 1st movie, then "getting excited" and going to watch the sequel and complain that it was boring like the 1st one. Very good. Probably the Netflix series with constant camera switching and short running time he can follow properly. Oh man... Attention deficit disorder is a problem indeed. But you can train it and kind of cure it. Who in their right mind would get excited to see a sequel for a movie they didn't like? My god. It's quite good, each scene is like a great visual painting. My only "negative" criticism is that the general story was just OK and there seems to be a bridge for a Dune 3, which I was not expecting. One of the best scenes of all time. I thought the same when I was seeing the movie. It's true that No Country for Old Men is a true great, one of the best movies of all time. However, after that movie they've made still some pretty solid movies. Burn After Reading -> good simple comedy, very entertaining with top notch cast A Serious Man -> very good movie, nominated for best picture, in my opinion one of the most underrated because it is very niche (focuses on the jewish community) True Grit -> another very good movie, nominated for best picture + director, top cast, great box office; cannot be argued against Inside Llewyn Davis -> another great movie, lauded by critics and praised in many festivals, amazing performance by Oscar Isaac The Ballad of Buster Scruggs -> fun movie, great performances, great meme content, great soundtrack, good movie in my opinion; just lost some credibility because it was several mini-movies rolled up in one Hail Caesar -> personally I thought this movie was good, but the general consensus is that it disappointed MacBeth -> OK movie, praised by awards and critics, but nothing groundbreaking It seems at this point the Coens are not trying very hard anymore, they just do things for fun or what interests them. Who knows if they will come back to the hard hitters again? They rarely do bad movies either way. Is that going to happen, though? The protagonists of Coen movies are very rarely perfect, superior and noble. The only factual thing you've mentioned, it seems, is that they are lesbians, which could be a minor trivia about the characters... Put me down for a yes, please. What do you mean? I know nothing of this movie, what is the pandering being done? So the studio offered to pay her dentist and she refused. And she got to play in the movie anyway without it. What's the big drama, here? I'm not arguing that 25% is smaller than 75%. But if 25% were drafted, it means half a million people were drafted. Half a million is a huge amount of people, and we cannot discard them as a residual sample. Many people were put through this.
