I think the beginning of the movie has several scenes that are not very good. But after some time it picks up the quality. Steve Carrel should also have been better used.

It is a well known fact that this type of "alternative" people usually join the arts and entertainment industry. If you go to study theatre and acting, and music, you basically HAVE to be leaning left, otherwise you'll be the "weirdo".
