Let's see how you look in 39 years lol... they were okay. I liked it, it felt in the same spirit as the first 2 movies but up to date... Axel even made fun of how times have changed and the current generation several times. 7.5/10 for me I'll take it... but wish it was an actual revival more like Disney did with X-Men '97. BTAS is something special... even if they have to recast the voices because of actors passing or being too old to do the voices... I would 1000% LOVE to see stories in the same *TONE*, similar animation style/character designs, music. To me its The Hunchback Of Notre Dame The Black Cauldron and Pinocchio as runner ups. It has been a gradual transition-ratio between good/bad, but I would say around mid 00s I blame a lot of it to CGI not being used as a tool to tell a story but the main component. Too much time went by between Fury Road and Furiosa (little over 9 years). Fury Road was not a huge success to begin with (380M worldwide), nor did it leave any loose stuff that had to be resolved/explained in another installment. Trailers looked too similar to Fury Road and initial critics-word of mouth said it was a solid movie, but also mentioned Fury Road was superior... Dementus looks (exactly) like a less ugly version of Immortan Joe Fury Road also barely had any story though... it's a 2 hour chase (masterpiece). I know its a prequel and Miller said he doesn't like the deaging effect, but Charlize IS Furiosa. Hailey is younger than Beibs by 3 years... which is considered an "acceptable" age gap in our society. Probably not a fan... he probably just wanted to make some money by producing this movie. Part of being a spy is being able to blend in and not raise suspicion... the character didn't want to stand out... but don't make the mistake of thinking she couldn't take you... she's lethally trained in hand to hand combat. This movie was shot on film... only the final boxing match was filmed on HD video. It has a more modern, but similar look to the very first movie in which a lot of handheld and steadicam shots were used. They had a very small production budget (24 million) and Sly has said many times that making this installment and getting it greenlit was the most difficult in the entire Rocky series. I love this movie... has aged great. How old was she supposed to be to be "able" to film those scenes? 6 I'm pretty sure it will outgross the first one. You are wrong, this will be at least a mild hit. Yeah, watchable movie (by the numbers) but some scenes look like shit. Also the bridge scene where they try to run him over with a truck reminded me of terrible CGI from the early 2000s... What Lies Beneath and Along Came a Spider used similar looking effects. The director has been bad mouthing Amazon saying this movie deserved to be released in theaters... but they didn't really upgrade much storywise... I can't rate this movie more than a 5 or 6 at most. Definitely deserved going straight to streaming. Even though it's owned/produced by Disney I don't think doing a revival of a Fox Kids animated show that was cancelled almost 30 years ago was at the top of their priorities. Better than no revival at all. Not talking about this project in particular... but I don't get the appeal either... makes me think I'm just getting old/er and starting to be out of touch. I saw the clip on youtube... it seems like he just announced the winner without presenting the other nominated movies before opening the envelope... is that what happened? Had to look it up... I haven't watched this movie in so long. It is my understanding that even if you don't have sex with someone, you can get in lots of trouble for just touching someone/anyone minor or adult - even worse if its with sexual intentions. In Lester's case in particular during those last 20 minutes... We are watching a 42 year old man and a 17 year old girl. The movie takes place in Chicago, Illinois. Assuming that the events during the last 20 minutes in the movie take place in the real world. Lester offers Angela a beer - she is 17... that is a misdemeanor in Chicago. All other sexual interactions (the kiss, caressing, blouse unbuttoning) would 100% be illegal between a 42 year old and a 17 year old... almost anywhere else in the US. Except that American Beauty takes place in Chicago where the age of consent is 17 and "Angela" despite being a minor is that age and can consent. Now, morally - most people would disapprove of a man of Lester's age being involved with a 17 year old, but I don't think he would get in trouble as long as Angela maintains that it was consensual (everything depends a lot on her and what she claims happened - regardless of her age) if authorities are involved. He would be in deep trouble if the age of consent was 18 though... there was some sort of predatory sexual assault and I'm sure Lester would be going to jail for at least a handful of years. What did he do? Fantasize about her? I guess not criminal then since that's out of his control, involuntary.
