This is one of the most ridiculous posts I've ever seen. Season 6? I thought that it's a 5-season series. I wasn't impressed with her either. Also, looking very old for her age, I would have thought 60's. And I'll say one other thing: she looks too old for her age. Like, I really can't believe she is only 36, to the point where I think her date of birth on IMDB is a misprint. It didn't jar you because you have no attention to detail and a mindset not backed up by any factual data. I bet it didn't even occur to you that in the 30's he would have only been a child (or that it was the Great Depression era), and in the 40's the oldest he could have been is 21. 1975 was mentioned or shown several times throughout the episode, it was also the year engraved on his award. All of those events were happening in 1975. Also, when Gloria went to Califrornia to investigate, she specifically referred to Ennis' life there in the 70's. And why would it have been in the 30's or 40's? Do you know what people dressed like back then? Do you think women could have been dressed that way in the 30's? (Not to mention the cars, the home decor, etc., all clearly shown in the episode.) And in terms of Ennis' (Thaddeus') age, let's not go overboard here either. It's a way too flattering and somewhat over-exposed picture. She looks much more masculine in reality (not to mention significantly older). "A too attractive female lead", are you serious?? I always thought of Carrie Coon as a butterface. An ugly sister to a handsome brother in Gone Girl and a plain woman with a way out-of-her-league boyfriend in The Leftovers. Huh? Well, if you are so smart, why don't you explain it to us? Boo-hoo. Spartacus was one of the best and the most graphic series ever! Don't watch if it offends your delicate sensibilities. To the second question - yes, I think so. As for the first question, it hasn't been explained yet, and I do wonder what a jinn's power actually is in this story. If someone read the book, I'd like to hear it. Well, she seems to be quite intelligent, but I'd say that's the only positive trait she possesses. I agree with you about the rest, although as of right now I am having a hard time buying the fact that a guy like Shadow would fall in "puppy love" with someone like her, especially considering what the respective actors look like. That would have required a miniseries, though, not a 2-hour movie. To me it the film absolutely WAS great precisely because it focused on how Madoff's actions affected those closest to him. I thought it was really powerful. Isn't that what you did just now? Wait, hold on: why didn't you expect it? I'd say it was obvious what would happen back when they were still in the cab, and certainly when they were already on the elevator. You could have fast-forwarded through it if you found it that bothersome. [shrug] Also, methinks you keep making the mistake of assuming everyone shares your feelings. Considering that you would not have opened this topic about a heterosexual sex scene - yes, it *is* an entirely fair conclusion. I still believe that unlike with Sense8, which I regretted wasting eight hours of my time on and couldn't imagine wasting any more, every scene is in this series for a reason. We'll see, there are only four more episodes to go. I have to disagree with you there. If the scene was short, I do not think it could have successfully conveyed the whole power balance there, how meek and unassertive that salesman was, like he was practically begging the jinn to dominate him, and how the encounter will potentially (which I am guessing we'll see) transform the salesman. Also I see something there about two deeply unhappy individuals experiencing some respite from their daily life (which, again, needed to be savored to convey to the viewer). But anyway, OP: the bottom line is that you are not as "enlightened" as you think you are. :-) If the scene bothers you, there is a ways to go. I said I am done talking to you personally, not that I am leaving. Which you were too stupid to even understand. But that's not my problem.
