Hmm, interesting, I haven't read the book (although I think I will now), but from the series I have to say I didn't get this.
I get it now, it's the difference between what people used to worship in the past and what they worship now.
Although I am still somewhat unclear on Bilquis. If she is the goddess of love, why would she ever become unwanted, why would she need a new deal with Mr.World?
I really don't remember it.
The man was a real character we've seen on the show before, though - Gloria met him on her trip to Cali.
Awww, so sorry to see her die after all.... :(
It was nice to see at least someone have the upper hand over Varga! I was definitely rooting for her.
You seem to be oddly invested into this, and expending a lot of energy in your zeal. Whereas I still don't understand how any of this is even an issue. Since you are not answering my questions, I will let this go. You seem to be more interested in soapboxing than any actual conversation, in any case.
You are a religious person, aren't you?
P.S.: the cabbie remained very much alive.
I still don't understand what your problem is?.. SO WHAT that the things you listed are on the show?
And why would you assume that Neil Gaiman is a children's author based on that one work?
And American Gods is far not the most graphic show I've seen, you sound very easily shocked.
You needn't be concerned, premium cable shows aren't known for being kid-friendly.
Same as all the other HBO comedies.
Well, yeah, it was a given that Gavin won't actually become enlightened. :)
It was just an escape from the world sort of thing for him.
What I didn't get about Bilquis was why in the beginning of the series she looked to be badly aging (I don't remember how she put it to her first "mark", something like decrepit?) if she was already in that deal with Mr. World and on Tinder.
Yes, the music on this show is extremely ugly for the most part. I do, however, very much enjoy the intro music, almost as much as the intro from House of Cards.
Who is AG?
But I never noticed any white-bashing on this show. Even the lynching scene had nothing to do with race.
To me it was humorous in and of itself that they cast Jeremy Davis as Jesus. :) Cracked me up when I saw the halo behind his head.
Odin
I've found this translation, which definitely fits:
"Haven’t I believed enough in your bullshit? Haven’t I suffered enough? Isn’t that enough itself? I’m not evil! I’m not!”
I doubt they ever had a DVD series, but you have find a bunch of episodes on the torrent sites.
He looks really short on Silicon Valley, I thought even shorter than that.
Is there definitely going to be a next season?
That thought never entered my mind, but regardless, it doesn't explain why he is like a dog to Francis rather than have his own life and career.
