The film is a psychological drama about complicated family relationships, various personality disorders, mental illness, etc. The title "a real pain" takes on many different meanings throughout the experience. I actually was not aware until credits started rolling that Jesse Eisenberg wrote and directed the movie himself. What an incredible talent. I mean, I enjoyed the movie, but frankly I will be surprised if the girl is even nominated. I loved it. The movie was immensely enjoyable. Will definitely rewatch at some point. I just watched it for the first time yesterday. I think the movie is fine. Not great, but watchable, and above average for this genre. I don't know why Sweeney is considered so attractive though. [shrug] You are responding to a 3-year-old post. [shrug] Is the show even still on? I don't think I've watched it since. Yeah, I didn't even have the patience to read - it is immediately obvious that he doesn't have any valid points. What on earth makes you think that anyone has to explain anything to you? And why on earth do you think that your opinion is the only one that can be possibly correct? No, I will not. The trailer didn't intrigue me either, but I saw the movie today, and it was actually good. Plus the soundtrack was fantastic! Well, I, for one, thoroughly enjoyed the movie and will definitely rewatch it when it comes to streaming. Tilda Swinton was amazing in this! Highly entertaining. 😉👌🏻 Do you think the character died in his youth or something?? 🙄 And Andrew Scott is an amazing actor - shows how much you know. [shrug] Oh, none of them are fresh out of college. Richard's father specifically said that Richard was too old to be doing this when he hired Tom to bring him back. Andrew Scott is one of the best actors of our time. It's too bad you can't appreciate him. And calling him an old man is ridiculous - it's not like he is eighty-seven. I didn't say anything about anyone else being involved. 🤷🏻‍♀️ It's been a while since I saw the movie, but when I was writing that I was imagining a large family with lots of children. After all, the man was very old, he must have had several generations of offspring (and offspring with that offspring) by the time of discovery. There was no reason why there would have been only one daughter. What I didn't understand, however, was who placed the Airbnb ads, since the actual property owner wasn't involved. It didn't seem like it could possibly have been the old man, let alone his feral daughter. The movie is allegorical, and the meaning is only revealed in the dialogue between Grace and her father in the finale. Grace's father is God, and Grace, as the daughter of God, is this infinitely virtuous and all-forgiving figure similar to Jesus. So what do you think was worse - what people did in Sodom and Gomorrah, or what God did to them? Or do you think babies survived the Great Flood? I mean, I personally am an atheist, and I had to read some interpretations online to make sense of the movie because it's not natural for me to think this way. But once I read this, everything fell into place. Lol, no, NYC. I just came out of the theater. What was it even supposed to be about?? I barely even made it to the end. No, as bored as I was I didn't fall asleep, and didn't miss anything. The movie wasn't actually about her. I expected very different from a movie called "The Creator".
