I saw the movie.

In the summer of 1983, Elio Perlman, a 17-year-old Jewish French-Italian boy, lives with his parents in rural Northern Italy. Elio's father, a professor of archaeology, invites a 24-year-old Jewish-American graduate student, Oliver, to live with the family over the summer and help with his academic paperwork.
Who was 16.
What was the second film?
The first film was a 17 yr old with a 24 yr old.
Third movie was based on a true story and the younger guy was 21 and the Burroughs (Craig) was 36.
Luca also did other movies. I Am Love and A Bigger Splash.
Hasn’t every 18 yr old dated a lot older guy. Ask any woman.
You mean Tiffany Trump. Sweeney as Tiffany. SS as TT but never - no way possible - MM.
I like Pullman when he’s twisted. Like this one and Last Seduction. Ryan was good this. Also, twisted. This was a creative adaptation of the Sherlock Holmes story. And it was after all 25 years ago.

Roger Ebert of the Chicago Sun-Times rated 3.5/4
We said the same thing and at the same time.
Because it is very good. It’s a real ride. It goes fast. And furious.
Best ever performance. Great movie adapted directly from the book. Unfair criticism.

He was good in a lot of things. Authentic in real life. And spectacularly beautiful.
Yes. Not nearly as good as the thespian greatness of Vin Diesel.
Lot of weird stuff movies. Wes Anderson Grand Budapest Hotel. Magnolia Paul Thomas Anderson. All of Lynch. Fargeat The Substance. So many. The beauty of Yorgos movies is worth looking into. I thought Poor Things, in addition to being so clever with its Frankenstein roots, was one of the most visually beautiful Gaudi-like movies I’ve ever seen.
But I have to thank you. After seeing your list, I did watch Prey in the Comanche version and it was outstanding.
It’s a really good movie. Sherlock Holmes (Pullman) in Century City. With Ryan O’Neal.
Nosferatu spectacular. The Substance, Anora fantastic. Alien:Romulus good. Mad Max Fury Road - a masterpiece - the other one was awful. I don’t think Northman was that good but Nosferatu and The Lighthouse are. You’re missing a lot on this list if it is from 2022-2024. Strange Darling - the most special.
But Wicked is deplorable.
One of the best movies I have seen in long time. My favorite film of last year. A master work. It was all the way me. So, what would be you, then?
She regrets taking this role and apologized. But what was wrong with the people in casting. At the time, I thought Jill Scott would have been better. But maybe not. Nina Simone was my favorite and what a travesty from the very beginning and they didn’t listen to concerns of her Estate. Who did you think should have played Nina?
Just saw it again and no, it is magnificent. It holds up; it’s timeless. I watched the episode The Sign of Three in S3 - and you can’t beat that. Sherlock at Watson’s wedding reception. It’s not silly at all. They are considering a S5. Mark Gattis is a genius writer. And I hope they do more but if they don’t, these are great to rewatch. Elementary is a completely different series.
What are you going to do with your head if this wins. Will you be ok.
Lots of straight writers/directors write/direct stories about gay love affairs (Brokeback Mountain) and vice versa. And a lot of white writers/directors write/direct movies about other people who are not white and vice versa. No one has a claim to a story.
Audiard a few years ago did a movie held in high regard called Dheepan - maybe you saw with it, hopefully not with the the same brain as you saw this movie - about a Sri Lankan refugee family living in a housing project in Paris. Any objections to that one.
Enjoy the show. I think it is good. So good that it will definitely get a S2. Hope you survive watching flashbacks. Looking forward to Resurrection.
No classroom scenes. High school meaning scenes with students, girlfriends. Volleyball is at the high school. I guess you never saw the first Dexter because the whole first and second seasons go back in time. As you may recall, Harry commits suicide. Any flashbacks, I like. I think maybe you might be the only one who has a problem with early Dexter but maybe there are others.
For me, it is Deb’s character who is absolutely annoying. I don’t think it’s the actress’s fault but a writer’s conception of her during this time period. In the original, she was foul-mouthed blasphemous but had style and a magnanimous personality and she loved and idolized Dexter. This one, she doesn’t. Every time I see her, I cringe. And that’s the downside for me. It’s odd that you have the two things in your name that bother me the most: deb and the volleyball thing with students. Not necessarily volleyball - I love that sport but just her scenes at the high school. Strange. Weird actually.
