BTW, that sprinkler scene reminded me of that meme about Holi: everybody wants a brilliant palate of colors. But the colors just mix together & turn everything diarrhea brown.
It was pretty corny.
I thought that was mostly Patterson's writing. Public schools can feel oppressive for a kid. But imagine thinking it's the fusty, old "stickler for rules" types mucking things up. Just a massive generational disconnect.
I try not to pathologize people I find strange. Even fictional people.
But something was off. There are multiple threads on this board nitpicking specific behaviors from Adam. I wasn't the only one watching & waiting for some sort of insight the character. Then the movie just ends.
Not saying we needed a psychiatric diagnosis. I enjoyed Napoleon Dynamite because the characters felt so authentically awkward. Other characters noticed & either accepted it or mocked it.
In Untamed Heart, the weirdness is swept under the rug.

Scruff of my neck & mostly covered by hair.
As a kid, I thought it was common. Saw it all the time. Turns out that's usually just razor burn.
She accused Trump of downsizing the USPS to discourage mail-in voting:

But people just don't mail stuff as often since the internet caught on. Which is why Obama made similar moves:

Trump aside, she also accused Blackburn of opposing the renewal of the "Violence Against Women Act". She supported the original act & believed it was more stringent than the renewal:

Seems she lost control of the brand. But that's changed:

More spinoffs should flesh out an undeveloped character.
And that's another thing: you imply that "PG" was some sort of family friendly symbol. It's not. It stands for "Parent Guidance suggested". It used to include everything between "G" and "R".
Pretty Little Liars showed 15-year-old girls having sex. This aired on the "Family Channel", by the way.
Most girls in my life aren't as PC as you describe. But even among those who are, the princess fantasy is as strong as it has ever been.
I'm old enough to remember the release. Nobody really thought of it as "family fun". It was seen a French movie & kind of the opposite.
Besides, Disney's content is way more subversive these days.
Me 3. Older folks definitely appreciated it. They had stories about how they used to do something similar on Halloween. They had to sing for their candy.
In the winter, our malls get busloads of retirees so they can for walks with less danger of slipping & falling. Malls should target that demographic. Think boomer amusement park: classic car shows, live music from their era, shuffleboard/curling...
Becuase courts ruled that porn was a form of speech. I don't buy it because porn, by definition, has no expressive value & only exists to titilate.
I've heard apologists make the case that titillation/expression is too fine a needle to thread. But we do it all the time with content involving children.
This thread probably belongs in politics.
Someone's been watching old SNL episodes.

Cherry Pie by Warrant. Their most popular song, by far. Defines their image. And it just doesn't sound anything like their other stuff.
Yup. I have a friend who drives for them. Started as a package handler in the warehouse. They streamlined the hiring process during the pandemic; all online, no interview. Basically just a background check. Probably not a bad option for someone struggling to establish a work history.
2 catches:
1-It's tough labor. I hear a lot of this & think people exaggerate. But there's really only 1 way to tell if you're up to the job; give it a shot.
2-They won't always have hours for you. It's basically a chance for workers to prove they're reliable before they can be offered an actual career.
MLK? Absolutely not. Ali?
